http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/news/2018/01/23/vatican-asks-underground-chinese-bishops-to-stand-aside-for-government-backed-ones/

Why is the Roman Catholic Church allowing the Communisr government to appoint its own Bishops? What does this mean for the Chinese martyrs, past and present, who have died for their beliefs and religion?

Will we soon have Bishops in China defending the governments abortion program? What’s next for the Church?

It's the investiture controversy all over again

>Why is the Catholic Church betraying Catholics all over the world

FTFY, and papa Francesco is the answer.

It'll get solved eventually.

In all seriousness though most of the shit going on is because of the freedom given to local bishops but I guess this one is directly the fault of Francis.

It reminds me from the times of the ostroghotic dominion of Italy, when bishops had to be "favorited" by the king.

Because in the long game you have to fost diplomatic ties to the countries that you want to influence. The Catholic church works out plans that are intended to last for centuries, not weeks.

the Catholic Church should not resort to such jewish ways of diplomacy

also, I don't know whether this website is trustworthy or not. They sure like mentioning "sources" without giving any.

The Church recognizes 7 of their picks for bishops and they recognize 60 of the picks the Vatican has for bishops.

This also moves Catholicism closer to being the only form of Christianity that is recognized in China. For example, the Chinese don't even acknowledge Protestantism to be the same religion.

So they sacrifice the souls of today for the possible souls in a future no one now will be alive to see.

Its cowardice plain and simple. They sacrificed the underground church so they could get pats on the back for making peace.

Which gives Protestantism the edge. The Chinese government hates Christianity, and Chinese Christians know this. The government and the Church making this deal is not going to help foster Catholicism in China

>diplomatic relations

Ask about the Tibetan buddhists. They let the government appoint Lamas, and has basically delegitimised Tibetan Buddhism now that it is infected by government influence

thats because its kind of not LOL

Based on a lefty youtube channel in Spain, there's large quantities of Christians in Chinese prison for the mere fact of being Christians. Chinese prisoners are subject to forced organ extractions and the Chinese government denies all the shit they do. Francis recognized something that China did (don't remember what, I think a medical treatment) which most countries criticised. In exchange many Christians were released from prison and had been granted some religious freedom, not to mention, that those Christians will not have their organs removed.

Exactly

4df356 No.595168

"Towards the end of the Way of the Cross which I was making, the Lord Jesus began to complain about the souls of religious and priests, about the lack of love in chosen souls. 'I will allow convents and churches to be destroyed.' I answered, "Jesus, but there are so many souls praising You in convents." The Lord answered, 'That praise wounds My Heart, because love has been banished from convents. Souls without love and without devotion, souls full of egoism and self-love, souls full of pride and arrogance, souls full of deceit and hypocrisy, lukewarm souls who have just enough warmth to keep them alive: My Heart cannot bear this. All the graces that I pour out upon them flow off them as off the face of a rock. I cannot stand them, because they are neither good or bad. I called convents into being to sanctify the world through them. It is from them that a powerful flame of love and sacrifice should burst forth. And if they do not repent and become enkindled by their first love, I will deliver them over to the fate of this world… How can they sit on the promised throne of judgment to judge the world, when their guilt is greater than the guilt of the world? There is neither penance nor atonement. O heart, which received Me in the morning and at noon are all ablaze with hatred against Me, hatred of all sorts! O heart specially chosen by Me, were you chosen for this, to give Me more pain? The great sins of the world are superficial wounds on My Heart, but the sins of a chosen soul pierce My Heart through and through.' When I tried to intercede for them, I could find nothing with which to excuse them and, being at the time unable to think of anything in their defense, my heart was seized with pain, and I wept bitterly. Then the Lord looked at me kindly and comforted me with these words: Do not cry. There are still a great number of souls who love Me very much, but My Heart desires to be loved by all and, because My love is great, that is why I warn and chastise them." - diary of Saint Faustina, 1703
