Christchan is back up after maintenance! The flood errors should now be resolved. Thank you to everyone who submitted a bug report!

Does anyone else really not like their church? I’m simply tired of going to the same place every Sunday and seeing the same people and saying the same things to said people. I live with my parents so I can’t go to a different church that I like. Anyone else feel this way?

I'm not sure if you're a Catholic, but if you are, then you can always check out different parishes in your city. Different priests run their parishes differently, so you might find one that suits your spiritual needs.

There's generally a lot of parishes within a city, so there will probably be some very close to your house.

I plan to make "mass tourism" just to meet and see different places.

I'm having the same problem, I live in a small town and have attended the same church basically my entire life. I don't have a problem with the doctrine but the fellowship is just not there. I'm not the most social person in the world and I can only click with certain kinds of people, but worse than that, there are just so few young people. Almost everyone is 40+ years old and I can't connect with them at all. I look out in a service and see maybe 4-5 young people in a sea of boomers. Its really killed my motivation to attend and I haven't been in about 2 months.

I know that feel, people at my church are nice, but most of them are too young or too old. I always have some awkward conversation with an old person after the service. Today I spoke with two old ladies, I don't really know how to speak to people, so we had an awkward conversation about our living places and how less people go to church. Thank God I had some plans, so I had an excuse to leave, they were nice old ladies, but I don't really know what to talk about with people I don't know.

I’m not catholic. I go to a Pentecostal Church but this past service I think I’ve decided it’s not for me. I feel out of place there, especially when everyone else gets loud and speaks in tongues. I’ve defended Pentecostals on here before but I think I’m done. I hate to call my church weird but I want to go to a normal church

>especially when everyone else gets loud and speaks in tongues

do most people actually do the yelling and stuff, sounds kinda weird

>I want to go to a normal church

Let us know if we can be of any help. :)

Sometimes yes. People really get into it.

In all my life, I've been brought to four Pentecostal churches by friends/family. Only one of them was where nobody was yelling in tongues, and they refused to go back there because they were not 'on fire for the things of God'. I find the more black people there are in the church, the more emphasis is put on speaking in tongues 'but in an African accent'.

Same here. Especially in any of the extra activities going on outside of Sunday Mass, all old people, I'm almost always the youngest person in the room. If there's some kind of class going on or if I go to a daily church function that's only around 30 minutes or so there's a good 40 year gap between me and the next oldest person. Sunday services have a good amount of diversity in age but anywhere else in the week is just full of retired people.
