75% of Americans identify as Christians. Whether they actually practice as much as you want is debatable.
Most are protestant and live in the sub-urban areas, though there are also large Catholic populations closer to cities like Chicago. The one exception is the Midwest, where there are an enormous amount of Middle Eastern Christians, mostly Lebanese, Assyrian, and Armenian.

Even France has a higher church attendance rating than Russia. I want Russia to be a pinnacle of christianity, but the fact is it's still a massively atheist country (30%+ identifying) full of disease, drunkeness, and immorality. Even the orthodox, being the single largest group in Russia, are still only around half of the country.
Americans may be degenerate, fat, lazy, and obnoxious, but they are still the largest christian nation on this Earth, and most of the people, despite what liberal media says, are christian. Russia has a long way to go, and so do some of the ex-Soviet slavic nations.
If anyone is going to 'usurp' the US in Christianity, it will be China, where there are already 90million+ Christians. The communist gov't trying to shut them down is only making the faith spread like wildfire. In addition, even Indonesia will be Christian if the 2million/yr conversion rate continues there. Russia is not Byzantine, and even if it were, those fools are once again proving themselves to prefer barbarian Muslim nations to their christian brothers in the West.
Even the Patriach of Russia says they are closer to Islam than to Catholicism. That should say enough
