>You realize if we legit outwardly convert to another religion we get apostacized right?
We are aware of that. Countless of our brothers and sisters in Christ who suffer horrific trauma, mutilation rape and execution - or even simply cold-hearted disinheritance and being ostracized and harassed by family and neighbors - endure all these things despite that. Why?
Because the truth of Christ Jesus, Messiah who suffered mutilation, harassment, slander, humiliation and murder for the sake of all those who believe on Him in truth, is such that we cannot and will not compare it to the what the world offers.
The Gospel is greater than man and Jesus is worth our suffering, and He throughout Scripture has promised with all certainty, God promising on His own name that,
For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Hebrews 13:5
When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me. - Psalm 27:10
>So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. - Mark 10:29-30
And in Psalm 56 it is written,
>Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
>In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust;
>I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?
and again,
>In God I have put my trust;
>I will not be afraid.
>What can man do to me?
and again in Psalm 118,
>I called on the Lord in distress;
>The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place.
>The Lord is on my side;
>I will not fear.
>What can man do to me?
Hence why it was given again,
For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?” - Hebrews 13:5-6
When dispensing the Gospel and calling on you to faith, we warn you just as Christ our Lord warned us all,
>"For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it[…] So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple." - Luke 14:28,33
But this same warning, that if we are not willing to forsake everything for Him, if we are not willing to count the cost of following Him and see that He is of such greater value than any of it (and indeed He is, Psalm 34:8, Psalm 119:103,105, Hebrews 6:13-20), then we are not capable of belonging to Him in truth -
the same Holy Lord who gave this warning also reassured us,
>Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; Their foot shall slip in due time; For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them.’ - Deuteronomy 32:35
as well,
"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." - Matthew 5:11-12
Because the promise of our salvation, our healing, our forgiveness and blessing is made by God, a vow He made on His own name,
Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.” - John 10:25-30
Therefore,
Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus…
- Hebrews 6:17-20
We are blessed with promises of God which bear infinitely greater value than anything or anyone in this life, and one of those promises is God Himself; God has promised Himself to us through Christ Jesus forever, and that, anon, is why the suffering is worth it.
