In many games, such as Dragon Age and The Wither, there is some sort of conflict between the local 'Church', with usually is the stand-in for Christianity, and the Mages/sorcerors/wizards/whatever.

With side do you generally suport? And how do you play your character, how does he acts on the world?

When I was irreligious(not atheist, I never sank to that level of depravity) I used to support the Mages because 'Hey, wizards are cool!' But now that I follow my faith I am not so sure.

Witcher takes place pretty much in a slavic based pagan society, so I just kinda go with the faction think Geralt would go with(role-play).

My personal faith has little affect on my view of wizards in fantasy since they aren't inherently evil, I mean look at Gandalf for example.

Its just that I feel that I should give my support to whatever faction mostly resembles christianity, even in fantasy worlds.

I dont know why, maybe its just autism, but I literally cant play as pagans. In Crusader Kings 2 I never play as a non christian. I just cant. Its always christians, and generally I invade the lands of the pagans and muslims at the first opportunity.

Man, I just want to run around with a sword-dude slaying shit. I absolutely hate game developers pretending to be film directors (and shitty film directors at that) I hate that contrived "emotional and engaging" storytelling and I hate it more when they try to make a "social critique" man I fucking hate that above all. Sorry guys for the swearing, but man, this really gets me going. That's what Mount & Blade did right. "You have the gameplay, have fun" It doesn't throw you a fucking cringy mini-movie at you. I hated that even before converting and being a serious christian because I want to play, if I want philosophy I go get it from people who dedicate their entire lives studying, if I want storytelling I go to an actual novelist.

Just wanted to run around waving a sword.

Never played any Far Cry, nor do I intend to.

And I dont like First Person Shooters. Also, from what I have seen, Wolfenstein: The New Colossus and the Wolfenstein series in general, are extremely disgusting anti-german trash, with lots of nudity. I will never play that.

I like more 2D adventure, RPG and Strategic Games like Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universalis 4.

If you side with the mages in DA:Origins you start the game with some some dude that does blood magic and has no regard for human life, all mages are walking a thin line between meddling with the occult and outright satanism, they should be kept in check.

Witcher 3 never lets you join the church and makes you side with the witches but Geralt makes it clear he doesn't like magic. Also you can go into a pagan society and literally kill their pagan idols so that's a plus.

I always support the Church if possible.

Any RPG I tend to make a Knight, Cleric or Paladin. And I play them as I would imagine a good Christian Knight would act. Thats personally just how I enjoy my games. I hate playing rangers and wizards. And I hate even more playing as killers or rogues etc.

But in some games you don't get a choice since the !not Catholic Church! always seems to be the bad guy. Which I normally brush off unless they're completely trying to trash Christianity in which case I drop the game.

what if you steal items from people in mmos? i dont mean using ingame mechanics but via deception: aka: "hey give me that item i'll upgrade it for you…oops just kidding im keeping it ;)"

I did that once and felt bad about it, gave it back to the player afterwards
