What is the /christian/ perspective on organized crime and the men who participate in it? Are there any good sermons on this subject?

It involves a lot of illegal activity and degeneracy. It predicates itself on sustaining a criminal underculture.

That being said, my city was a lot better off when the mob ran things. At least the mob cares about the place they live because they actually live there. You get a politician that owns several houses all over the country, he is just looting the city he holds office in.

From my research some organized crime groups are "caring" and others are ruthless capitalists of the highest order.

I think it has been with humanity since the fall.

Chinese Triad originated from a neighbourhood protecting itself against the government after it was corrupted by the "white devils" and the foreigners BS. It consolidated power: finance, physical, and politcal. So anyone would not dare f- with them.

I surmise it is the same with Mafia. In the films, you often see them swear into the family, a blood vow, burning of the picture of Mary, etc.

It's a no, but the gravity depends on the reasons and if it's for supporting the family etc.

Even then still, it's a no.

Just finished the series a few weeks ago, wew lad

IF we can believe the Sopranos they burn a picture of St. Peter (or just a patron saint?) and make a vow of it by snuffing the flame within their hands that *insert saint* will block their way into heaven if they don't keep their oath or something.
