Sorry guys, you'll convince me

But why is the Devil so strong?

77dc31 No.573698

What part of "Prince of this World" do you not understand?

Any that do not Pray to the Creator will fall to him when he pleases.

He isnt

We are weak ad frail thanks to our degeneracy

This.

>We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

1 John 5:18

You forget some unwittingly end up serving the Devil. When those who control our world are pushing heathen agendas, but in the name of good intentions to fool the masses.

Or using the knowledge and gifts God gave us against us.

f915da No.573873

Those people have heard the Gospel, yet they reject it. It is not through some sort of blameless ignorance, but rather a willful blindness, favoring their concupiscence to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

>This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ; if so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Eph. 4:17-25

I didn't say those who hear and reject the Gospel are blameless.

I'm talking about those who either didn't hear the Gospel/aren't taught the Gospel who might be unwittingly used.

>Devil

>Strong

The idea that the devil is the equivalent to God is a modern concept.

b85a7c No.573886

>Cowers and flees at the name of Jesus

>Bows to Jesus

>"strong"

He's like a disease, only harming people who are weak

f915da No.573887

>>573878

That's a different thing:

>For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another

Rom 2:15,16

BUT…you would be hard-pressed to find anyone in the West who have not heard of Jesus or the Gospel. The fact that those people have been deluded by false prophets and wolves in sheeps clothing is not an excuse.

I'll give you that. Just hope and pray that some of them will turn back to God, like Hotwheels did.

>But why is the Devil so strong?

Strong compared to what? To humans he is impossible to defeat without the Lord's help. To the Lord he is almost nothing.

>1 john 5:19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

>Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

He and the fallen angels are in control of the world, however if you look into cases of demon possessions solved by prayer, or exorcism/deliverance, you'll see that God holds the final power. The devil is only a counterfeit of what God is, an magic trick to someone who allows magic.

The devil is only strong to those who are fooled or allow evil to seep in through sin. I think the presence of the Devil is here to test good, and it sucks that he has such an ancient and resilient presence on earth.

God of this world

d4478f No.574066

The devil was from one of the higher choirs of angels before his fall, either a Seraph or more likely a Cherub, and is the leader of all the other demons. Even then his power is more limited than what you might think, only doing what God allows him to do, and he will be defeated. He can't see the future or read human thoughts directly, and can only be in one place at a time, for example. Satan was not the most powerful demon who fell, either. The more powerful ones have already been imprisoned since before the Fall of Man. The devil might seem strong because powerful humans (like most humans) are serving him, and being humans our perspective is limited to human society. Everything he does or can do is ultimately futile so you might as well say he's powerless.

Christianity dual religion.

it is in Islam and Judaism that bad things also come from God.

9dcf60 No.574095

>>574092

>Christianity dual religion.

No, satan is just a created being and an autist inter alia. Evil in every independent being comes from his own free will and choice. We can tempt eachother but this doesnt make us "source of evil", that is an oxymoron itself in Christianity. Evil doesn't exist ontologicallyy, but is a deficiency of Good, that is God. So if you even want to make Christianity dual religion, the second end wouldn't be satan, but an abstract non-existence. Making Satan "source of evil" and making Christianity dualistic, means to equate devil to God, which is a heinous and an abominable blasphemy.

Also that picture is absolute garbage.

f9635a No.574097

You say so.

happens something, says that this experiences from God, and when real shit happens, this is the devil's fault.

hypocrisy!

This. The "opposite" of Satan in Christianity is one of the archangels, probably St. Michael.

Aristotle defined the different meanings of the word "evil" or rather its cognate in ancient Greek. When a child sees the pretty red glow of a stovetop element and reaches to touch it, a good parent will slap the child's hand. The child no doubt bursts into tears, and is plunged into misery. The child has no doubt suffered an evil, but is the slapping evil? No one would say so. Likewise a tornado blowing through a town and destroying a man's house, you would no doubt say that an evil has befallen the poor man. But do we mean evil in the sense that a moral agent committed a malicious act against him, or rather that he merely underwent some unfortunate setback or suffering? Perhaps a good starting point would be for you to research and define the various kinds of evil, or at least the senses of the word, and then consider whether all these can be justly attributed to God. It seems to me that you're charging God with one kind of evil when really you're slipping in another kind of evil and counting on the confusion of them both being called evil in order to try to make the charge stick.

Its influence on the soul.

God rarely speaks to man but satan does not stop for a minute, even in prayer.
