>1 Corinthians 14 I wish that all of you could speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified.

Is there any Book for interpreted speech in tongues? I have never seen a single actual speech in tongue, much less one passed through an interpreter, so I am curious on what the Holy Spirit usually speaks about.

What … like a Google Translate for tongues? That would be odd.

No. That's just ridiculous.

I am asking if we have any excerpts form people that speak in tongues.

This is an interesting idea. There are plenty of videos of people doing it on the internet, but I imagine that most of them don't have interpreters. But for those that do, we could attempt to transcribe it and look for grammar/syntax in 'angelic tongues'. I'd try to help.

But like I was saying on the previous thread, we have the issue of 'fakers'. There are people that are clearly just imitating everyone else because some of the tongue-talking churches believe it's a requirement for salvation. You would have to ween out the fakers out of the process, and any interpreter who interprets from a faker is obviously faking himself.

It's complicated, but if you do it right and there's actually something to this aside from the unconscious mind, you should be able to create a rudimentary translator for Heavenese. You could offer compelling evidence for the existence of God if a language is uncovered.

>we could attempt to transcribe it and look for grammar/syntax in 'angelic tongues'.

I probably screwed up my post which means I am to blame for the suggestion, but anyways.

My first suggestion to it is to EXPLICITLY not do that. I'm a bit open to new ideas form science but this is a rather painful thing to suggest because we'd be bypassing a gate God explicitly set up: The Gift of Interpretation of tongues.

I'd even persuade atheists not to do it even if it causes a few converts because there are high chances God would pull the punishment he did on Babylon again, something I otherwise find impossible to trigger again ever since Jesus died on the cross.
