It's a modern re-iteration of Mary and Joseph traveling from Nazareth to Bethleem, because of Herod's decree, trying to find somewhere to stay at because Jesus is about to be born of Mary. Your only reason for screaming "MUH DEGENERACY" is because Mary and Joseph are portrayed here as hispanics.
Why not enjoy the artwork itself? All the evangelical implications are nice.
