punishment should fit the crime; say a guy rapes one child, his punishment should not be as severe as one who rapes 10 or 100. personally im one for public humiliation: stripping them of their clothes, parading them through the streets where people are free to throw things at them and hurl insults, maybe have it escalate from there if it was some serious scandal, like binding and branding of the hands, castration, torture, etc. the only rehabilitation these people have will be the kind that they do themselves, it's our obligation to make sure they have plenty of reasons to be thinking about it.
