Wew. I lost my girlfriend of two years for a lot of reasons, but the main reason was our living in a state of constant and habitual mortal sin. I've learned a lot since we broke up, but I can tell you to go to confession and come back into the Church and become Catholic because nothing you do will break any sort of hold that sin has on you like that. The grace has to come from God. Listen to me now and hopefully spare yourself the agonizing heartbreak later.

please make up your mind right now that for the rest of your life you will pray at absolutest minimum fifteen minutes every morning when you wake and when you go to bed, no matter what.

you cannot conquer sin without prayer. but you can pray even as a sinner.

your girlfriend is not a devil any more than you are. you may find it helpful to pray for her sanctity and holiness as much as your own. She is a child of God as much as you, please see the immeasurable value of a human soul for whom Christ endured agony and death when you think of her.

I will pray for you and your girlfriend, but please in return pray for my mother. She is hitting rock bottom with drug addiction, insanity and possible eviction and infection soon. A terrible case. Perhaps God may reward your charity in praying for a stranger by giving you a stronger conscience. But that is not for me to decide…

You can’t blame your own sin on another person. There are always going to be people who will tempt us to sin. If we give in it is our fault. I say this as someone who has given in countless times to sexual sin. In the modern world sexual temptation is always there in some form. It is our job to resist it, we cannot blame thots. If anything we who know better and yet still deliberately sin are the biggest thots of all.

Adam answered by blaming his sin on Eve:

Even though he confessed his sin, he didn't show contrition for his sin.

Personally i find that fasting helps with lust. if you love your girlfriend then consider what Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 7.9 'But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion."
