How do you find that one saint to have a devotion to? I know that many Catholics have that one. Personal stories encouraged.

Basically you find an extraordinary saint that was in a predicament or maybe has a talent or personality trait that is similar to yours and you read more about that person and then pray. A good way to find one is of course to just look at the huge list of patron saints and search for a while.

I've not found one yet. I once tried offer a prayer to St Genesius because he seemed like a badass but it was quite a halfhearted one so he might dislike me now.

I have personally chosen st. Thomas Aquinas. I still have to go through conformation and baptism so I'm going to pick him as my patron. I'd say that you should look for saints that you look up to, have interesting life stories or you simply like them personally. If you can't decide, you can always go with a saint you're named after.
