Not Orthodox myself, but I can tell that he wrote a book called "Atheist Delusions". A pretty good book, it proves wrong several points that New Atheists tend to make, for example about witch hunting and Galieo Galilei. His snobby tone that >>537621 strikes out even in his writing, however. Otherwise I'd say he's a cool guy.

He's not necessarily mean, just rude. Often dimissive in his arguments.

He has recently released his own translation of the New Testament, trying to be as literal as possible, without bias. It's pretty well received so far, in fact I ordered it.

However, he's a universalist, an Origenist, and hates on St Justinian. So he belongs to the Orthodox Church, but I'd be wary of calling his perspective "Orthodox".

One interesting aspect of his works is that while he's very erudite, he takes his knowledge from very unusual or niche sources.
