Ive started realizing that through out the plane scene we see CIA express several contradictory personality traits

I’ll call these the CIA persona and Bill Willson persona for now

CIA persona shows itself before the plane is boarded

>acts very level headed

>has an interest in capturing Bane

>no nonsense and just wants to get his job done

>implied to believe he is a literal representation of the US Central Intelligence Agency

Bill Wilson persona begins showing itself immediately after the Wreckage Brotger starts flying

>by saying ”the flight plan I just filed with the Agency” he shows he recognizes the Central Intelligence Agency as a US state department and not his name

>actively disobey’s the Agency’s flight plan and shows off his ability to shoot birds out of the air mid flight to all of the new passengers instead and asks them a few questions to get to know them

>is almost completely unphazed by the appearance of Bane and takes no extra security measures once he’s revealed

>refers to Bane as “Abigg Guih” for unknown reasons

This is, whom Nolan refers to as, “CIA Man.”

In the novelization of the film, CIA Man’s real name is revealed as Bill Wilson, Bill being a shortened familiar version of William, making his birth name William Wilson. However, it is possible that, since he is a CIA operative, he uses Bill Wilson as a code name.

This is interesting, as William Wilson is also the titular character of Edgar Allen Poe’s short story, William Wilson. In the story, William Wilson is haunted by a doppelganger who shares even his name and history. The story ends with William murdering his double. William Wilson, like, perhaps, Bill Wilson, uses a pseudonym to escape conviction.

In The Dark Knight Rises, Bill Wilson’s double may be Bane, his nemesis, with whom he shares many traits. This leaves a lot to speculation, such as Bane’s inner nature and his true identity, perhaps confirming that Bill Wilson is Bane’s name as well. In this case, Bane is the one who kills Bill Wilson, leaving the story the same.

Another similarity between The Dark Knight Rises and William Wilson is that, when the double, Bane, appears to Wilson while he is with the others, he only appears with his face covered. Later on, when he kills his double, they wear masks, as Bane does.

In both stories, William Wilson and his double first meet on January 19th in the thirteenth year of their respective centuries.

The surname, Wilson, means “son of will,” meaning Bill Wilson has willed himself into his situation, perhaps reflecting on his naivete.

>The surname, Wilson, means “son of will,” meaning Bill Wilson has willed himself into his situation

My personal theory, if Quantum Bane could be considered canon, is that Bill Wilson did not actually die in that plane crash. Instead, Bill Wilson is actually an astral projection from Bane. As unlikely as this sounds it does make sense when you consider that Bane and Bill Wilson share quite alot of the same traits. There's even a moment in the Post-Credits Scenes where Bane strikes a power stance and Bill, now living as Paul Serene, dons a mask when he's too pained.

He is the Agency now, before merely an agent of it, just a CIA guy.

>bird shoot

Killing the Eagle: oaths were forgotten

>unphased by Bane

The aisle of the plane as a Masonic Lodge, and initiation ceremony (the initiate is symbolically killed, falls – or descends – and is resurrected.)

>If I pull this off, will you die

pull off: accomplish, succeed

this: ?

>prior: It doesn't matter who WE are. What matters is OUR plan!

>You're a Big Guy

as in "You're a big guy, you can take it [extreme pain.]

>For You

Bane will die/endure extreme pain of removing the Mask [-in-general.]

Lionel Pavel: Lion is associated with one of the penultimate steps in Masonry; the Lion, Eagle, Bull, and Man constituting the "arms of the fraternity"

>A body bag is lowered into the cabin. Bane lies it on the seat backs next to Dr. Pavel and unzips it to reveal a body the same age and build as Dr. Pavel.

This, and the lifting of the plane – and the ascension of the 'survivors' that nominally do not exist hereon to the cargo plane above dragging the white plane – constitute the ritual sacrifice and rebirth.

>Bane:Friend. They expect one of us in the wrecks

Sacrificial Bull (one of four rappelling from the cargo plane, recapitulating the quaternary)

>(Beginning) You don't get to bring friends

To the afterlife, ne plus ultra – Likewise, there are always 10 (Tree of Life, sephiroths within it – The Plan can be seen as the Serpent coiled up it, the path to the top.)

> if Quantum Bane could be considered canon,

Observer effect. No survivors in Les Baines plane crash in our continuity. In here, within the film, that's undone by the audience. Not only did he not die in the crash it was impossible for him to – as above, so below; figurative and literal; cargo plane and commercial one

>>139694

> the titular character of Edgar Allen Poe’s short story

Bane as Wilson Williamson. Respective Gematria values of CIA and Bane in 1398 and 1578 subtracted equals -180 – in degrees, as with the plane/resurrection symbolism. For our purposes, Bane's assumption of Bill Wilson surrogatehood is as an egregore, with the plane scene – and subsequent film itself – as the initiation

It would be extremely painful to remove the suspension of disbelief mask. Not only is Bane the audience, so are the Hooded Men that CIA says "No friends." Those shot or thrown out the plane are our symbolic surrogates in the ritual, rebirthed in those that rapell from the cargo plane. "Don't worry, they have no choice" – Watching is sufficient for participation in it. Bane himself goes as far as to send the last one under this framework not just to resurrect CIA Guy, but his own independent existence aside and apart from either Bill Wilson, or ourselves.

What is that independent existence? Egregore in our world? Recall the man who delivers them with Dr. Pavel: Masketta. Masquette being "Mask" in French. His reply to CIA's query "Bane?" is "Aye" – or "I"? . . .

>surname, Wilson, means “son of wil

Triggered the novel above, didn't register it consciously; appears banal, but mayn't be so:

>gr. thelema – "will, wish, or want."

In Aleister Crowley's system, "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." – So this might explicitly be tied to him as far as the spooky shit goes, intentional or otherwise. "Thy thelema be done" from the Lord's prayer.

>Agápe (ἀγάπη agápē[1]) means "love: esp. charity; the love of God for man and of man for God."[2] Agape is used in ancient texts to denote feelings for one's children and the feelings for a spouse, and it was also used to refer to a love feast.[3] Agape is used by Christians to express the unconditional love of God for his children.[4] This type of love was further explained by Thomas Aquinas as "to will the good of another."

The inverse

Also: the Mercs going unlisted/credited lends itself to their attribution upon the audience.

I thought that we went over this. The Crisis on Infinite Agencies specifically states that CIA exists in multiple planes of existence. In some he is a descendant of the Westerosi Master of Coin. In some he survives the only plane crash and stays with the agency, undergoing experimentation that makes him a super soldier, where he takes the pseudonym Slade and the codename Deathstroke. Then we have the post apocalyptic AU in which Mad Max and the Scarch Trials play out the tales of this universes Bane and CIA. All that matters is Universe Prime, in which Bane crashes CIA’s plane with no survivors. Aka, the regular Plane Scene.
