Allright /bane/, i'm currently working on a Pokemon game, in which you play as Pavel. Bane and his men tried to grab you, and CIA is upset that he's not in charge anymore. So you need to get find Bane, stop his Master Plan, and defeat CIA before he shoots you and then throws you out a plane.

You're also helped out by Masketta, and Robbie Rotten (who else did you expect, Sportiflop?)

The sprites are all terrible ripoffs of nintendo artwork, and the music is equally bad, but sometime this month I want to try and finish a working demo, with 1 Gym, and a fight against CIA, Bane and Robbie. How many people would be interested in seeing this game?

Up until now I was naming it after Kanto, but your trips mean I'm now renaming some of the maps.

There's also a statue to Kek in honour of your post.

Trieste is where you start, I'm going to have a big mountainy snowy region called Uzbekistan (think Mt. Coronet in sinnoh), Gotham is the city with all the shops, game corners, day care and the like.

I'll try and name all of them after bane locations, except for the one with the final gym, which is going to be Duwang and features Giorno Giovani and his team of stand users as the final gym

What I think would be perfect would be for the game to have something of a baneposting metanarrative - put enough of the focus on baneposting concepts, and you can end up with a game that Initiates its players as they make their way through it. Think of how Pokemon itself, in a loose sense, treats the player as being new to its world, and after it drops them, with minimum context, into this small part of the world the player's understanding of it is then to slowly build up as they journey across it - like that, but with baneposting.

I've now put together up to the second major town, the aegan sea, where you can run around some CIA headquaters (currently working on), though the town itself is basically empty for now.

Also put in a power plant zone, has a ton of NPCs that do nothing, but you can run through it and reach the 7th gym, which is finished since it's just Blaine by himself, it took three minutes to throw together.

Haven't done that, but I can add in moves/abilities. Hidden abilities can't be accessed without NPC help, so I was thinking of messing around with GYM leaders, and doing stuff like giving Erika drought (so then she gets easy solar beam/synthesis), or Misty Drizzle.

Adding in pokemon is much harder, since I need things like cries, front/back/dex/inventroy sprites, moves, TMs, Egg groups, and a whole load more shit. I could try it, but would need sprites I don't have and don't really have the skill to make.

I've finished the first three towns, and the plot up to there. Now there's a fight with Bane, and you go to the Aegan sea. There I've half finished the agency HQ (trying to recreate Silph Co.), finished the gym, and I have all the gym leaders to be challenged, along with their rematches, and the final battle against CIA/Bane. On the way between the third town and the Aegan sea there are 19 clones of Moot looking for rare pepes (all the exact same battle). I can realease the current version, in which case you'd be going around a map against 19 clones of the exact same guy, or I could try and finish working on the route, but this would delay the release of the game a few days while I try and sort out all the trainer data.

So would you want a slightly shittier version now, or a slightly less shitty version in about a week?

You can now go to the second major town, the Aegan sea, and battle a gym. Then you get to explore the headquaters there, and try to learn about why CIA shoots men before throwing them out of planes.

If you want to keep saves (bear in mind this might not work, or might cause strange bugs), take either game.rpgxpdata or Game.rxproj file (it's one or the other), this will be your save file. then move it into the new download. This is only for Windows 7 or earlier, later versions should patch the save file through automatically.

Big news (for you), I nearly have a new update. It may be about six months late, but that's because of a few game breaking bugs involving fly/dig and moves like outrage, which were softlocking the game, which meant you were stuck with an infinite loop where neither trainer lost (it just used the moves endlessly, never depleting PP and either did no damage, or never let you switch in). I've had to remove the moves from all NPC encounters since I couldn't understand why the bug was occurring. Current update is going to let you explore Gotham, with a ton of events throughout the city. It's not fully finished yet, but when it's done you'll be able to fight Surge, save a casino from a bunch of clowns trying to rob them, and then go and challenge the elite four (where Lance continuously soft-locked the game with outrage). Hopefully it'll be ready within a week

New Update is here! You can head in to Gotham and explore some new locations, a few of which are barebones for now but will have content in future updates, while others just have a lot of trainers to battle and ways to get some free pokemon.

You can also fight the third gym, and after that teach some bank robbers who they're stealing from
