we engage with our surroundings using our organism, a significant part of which is taken up by neurons. when you look at something, you're setting off a process that goes from the eyes to the occipital lobe, where it travels in many other complex networks to do higher functions (recognizing lines, detecting movement, distinguishing edges).
we know many of these things by making lesions to animals, or studies about people who damaged particular areas of their brain. we know there's such thing as a kind of visual agnosia in people with certain brain damage that are unable to track things if they're moving.
so think of any part of the brain involved with shooting those digital arrows, that wouldn't likely involve some part of the brain involved with driving?

It's a question predicated on your metric that gets blurry even in the most far flung of cases- If your metric is avoiding and not causing traffic accidents, brain wasting away is utterly immaterial because like what I brought up above, the elderly get into and cause far fewer traffic accidents than young people with their full faculties. If your metric is excelling in something like racing; the highest form of driving, your point gets kicked in the head too because fuckers like Mark Martin excelled into their sixties, fuckers like Dale Earnhardt or Andretti pushed into the 50s age where the brain starts to shit the bed and whooped up on kids practically born to compete in the sport. Those are the two general sticks I measure by a lot of times and really what else is there? I've even got an anecdote for you because engineer's in the 60s accounted for people like you- American cars of that have a reputation for being "poor handling" boats that didn't like to take turns at speed- This was something of a compromise between how the control arms were located based on how the frame captured the body and the general driving characteristics they wanted. The front suspension geometry of something like a GM A body or early Ford Mustang were such that under hard cornering they would experience a dynamic camber loss, resulting in a loss of contact patch with the road, exceeding the tire's circle of traction and no matter how far you turn the wheel they continue going the direction you're facing under a condition known as "understeer." They opted for this because it was friendly to people shit at driving; since the way you correct understeer on the road is by letting off the throttle- Under a few informal NHTSA and personal case studies they found that most driver's first reaction to a "vehicle out of control" state like understeer or oversteer is to let off the throttle. They were accounting for idiots like yourself with those lightning reflexes that only put you into a ditch quicker.

so do you consider the 4X genre to be dated?
well I was part of their kickstarter discord for abit and quite honestly I can tell you straight up that they're going to make it into as trash as possible. basically at one point they were thinking about implementing a handle cap system for higher skilled players vs lower skilled players. and they also wanted to stick in "hero units just like in my wc3"

sins of a solar is a RTS/4X hybrid. I don't think civilization is a niche game.
there's alot more red flags I can show you on Iron harvest then just that little bit. basically they put up the kick starter inorder to fish for a publisher. and they justified this by saying "we didn't reach multiplayer tier on the kickstarter so we're needing a publisher so that they'll be a multiplayer"
it's all kinda shady fuckery going on, specially with youtuber influencers signing NDA's left and right so that they can't say anything bad about the game.
