>The ships left early in case of an American attack but they were not ordered to attack until after the Hull's Note was read

The Ships were sent specifically with the attack on Pearl Harbor in mind. You can make the argument that the Hull Note didn't help the situation, but it is not direct responsible for Japan's decision to attack. Also it's great to say that you're going to withdraw from indochina, but if you want to be believed you don't send additional troops to the area while you're negotiating that very aspect. To borrow from the same wiki again The United States was about to make a counteroffer to this plan, which included a monthly supply of fuel for civilian use. but he received Intel telling him that it was a farce.

>He sold weapons to the Chinese

I'm trying to find anything along those lines. The only things I see is his efforts with the refugees and noncombatants. I don't see where you're quoting that. Can you link me?

>It shows that they were ready for one, that combined with the lack of accepting peace offers and negotiations showed they wanted one.

The point of negotiations is that you keep going back and forth until you come to an agreement and discuss in good faith. Not just get upset and flip the table like the Japanese did. America didn't close negotiations, Japan did and initiated war at the same time.

>Was this in the first Russo-Japanese war or the Korean war?

Yes the Russo-Japanese War that occurred after the 1st Sino-Japanese War.

They initiated a surprise attack against a stationary Russian fleet while at harbor. Russians weren't even aware they were at war due to a lack of formal declaration if I recall correctly.

>It's not about racial discrimination but the attitude of the Americans and American government to the Japanese that is important.

And the same can be said about the Japanese's view of Korea and China. All countries are at fault for this.

>So we should just wait and let America attack?

By all records America had no intention to initiate an attack against the Japanese, and the American Public was heavily against war. This idea that you guys needed to hit us first out of defense is ludicrous.

>I was referring to the modern Japanese government, Israel have been paying off politicians

So the Jews are at fault for Japan saying they're responsible?

>I entered talking about Nanjing, for me the original point of discussion was Nanjing.

Well then your arguments were with other people. My entire point of this entire discussion was for Fool to recognize that Japan was acting aggressively and not with just defense in mind.

>John Rabe

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siemens

It mentions how he is a member there and it mentions Siemens selling weapons to China.

>Yes the Russo-Japanese War that occurred after the 1st Sino-Japanese War.

That was about Karafuto which was Japanese land stolen by Russians, we shouldn't have to tell them we are taking what is ours.

>And the same can be said about the Japanese's view of Korea and China. All countries are at fault for this.

There wasn't any racial discrimination laws against Chinese or Koreans, I mentioned we abolished slavery in Korea (43% were slaves before that if I am correct) and turned it from one of the poorest countries into a rich one.

>By all records America had no intention to initiate an attack against the Japanese

America definitely wanted a war which is why they didn't accept the peace offers.

>So the Jews are at fault for Japan saying they're responsible?

>Japan wouldn't have attacked without the Hull Note.

Except they already sent Warships to Pearl Harbor with the intention to attack.

The Hull Note didn't make them do anything; they did it to themselves.

>I can't say why troops were sent there but it didn't mean we were unwilling to negotiate it.

It undermines their position to negotiate. That is why America didn't counter offer and instead sent the Hull Note. They felt like Japan wasn't being sincere in the Negotiations.

>It mentions how he is a member there and it mentions Siemens selling weapons to China.

Did Rabe sell weapons himself though? Did he directly profit or was he simply commanded to do sales by Siemens? This makes a difference you know.

>That was about Karafuto which was Japanese land stolen by Russians, we shouldn't have to tell them we are taking what is ours.

In the Treaty of Saint Petersburg (1875), Japan agreed to give up its claims on Sakhalin in exchange for undisputed ownership of the Kuril Islands.

It seems like Japan didn't claim it as their territory. The Russo-Japanese War was largely over control of Korea and Manchuria. So I don't how you're saying that Japan is reclaiming anything.

> I mentioned we abolished slavery in Korea (43% were slaves before that if I am correct) and turned it from one of the poorest countries into a rich one.

forced labor by the Imperial Japanese, in conditions which have been compared to slavery.[3][18] These included women forced into sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army before and during World War II, known as "comfort women".

Yes conventional Korean Slavery was ended by the Japanese in the 30's, but it wasn't anywhere near the percentage that you're saying it was. The percentage of actual slaves where well less than 5% of the total population. At least according to the wiki.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_in_Korea

>America definitely wanted a war which is why they didn't accept the peace offers.

Not accepting to remove sanctions and embargos is not the same as asking for war. America was in negotiations with Japan and Japan was the one who chose to leave the table.

>I more meant how the government has been bought out and it's a puppet of the US since 1945

So basically we can't anything that is accepted by any governments or modern historians?

>it undermines their position to negotiate. That is why America didn't counter offer and instead sent the Hull Note. They felt like Japan wasn't being sincere in the Negotiations.

sounds like america's fault

>It seems like Japan didn't claim it as their territory. The Russo-Japanese War was largely over control of Korea and Manchuria. So I don't how you're saying that Japan is reclaiming anything.

Karafuto belongs to the Ainu, Ainu have more ties to Japan than Russia.

>Korea

we protected Korea from the Russians, Korea would've been worse under their rule

>Manchuria

Same as before

>Did he directly profit or was he simply commanded to do sales by Siemens?

He made profit from the weapons sales, he had reason to lie, he was also arrested for lying and has many consistencies in his report

> forced labor by the Imperial Japanese, in conditions which have been compared to slavery.[3][18] These included women forced into sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army before and during World War II, known as "comfort women".

Korean newspaper talking about the lie of Comfort women in 1989

Yoshida who claimed to have transported comfort women admitted to lying.

>

In 1993, the Japanese government had actual hearings from 16 ex-comfort women and inquired other 10 ex-comfort women. Among these 26, there were 8 who testified to have been forcibly moved. But 2 of these had inconsistency in their testimonies and could not be trusted. And other 4 were judged by a Korean group also to be difficult to inquire because of the inconsistency. The rest 2 were the women who worked merely at red-light district, not at battle field. There were only comfort women working to earn money.

>Yes conventional Korean Slavery was ended by the Japanese in the 30's, but it wasn't anywhere near the percentage that you're saying it was. The percentage of actual slaves where well less than 5% of the total population. At least according to the wiki.

Possibly 43% is quite high, maybe it meant 43% in poverty

>Russia was aiming to take Korea. If Korea became a part of Russia, the next target was Japan. So, Japan annexed Korea in 1910 to make it a strong country not being invaded by Russia. The annexation was done with the agreements of the great world powers in those days. In Korea were also the powers to push on with the annexation.

>Japan made schools, factories, hospitals, and all the other institutions in Korea to modernize and rebuild it. Korea, which was said to be one of the poorest countries in the world, became much modernized in a short time. Japan poured huge money and manpower into Korea. Seoul, which was said to be one of the uncleanest cities of the world, became a modernized clean city.

>The Korean public had not been able to read and write, but they became able to read and write. The Hangul script became the letters of the Korean public in the period of the Japanese rule on Korea. At schools, Korean pupils and Japanese pupils learned together, under Korean and Japanese teachers.

>At companies, Korean and Japanese people worked together, sometimes Japanese men working under Korean superiors. There were even high-rank Korean officers in the Japanese military, using their Korean names. A Korean writer, Seon-hwa Oh, interviewed with Korean people and Japanese people who had actually lived in Korea in the time of the Japanese annexation (1910-1945), and published a book in Japan. These people all testified that the Japanese and Koreans had "worked together" generally "friendly" to make Korea a strong modernized country.

>Not accepting to remove sanctions and embargos is not the same as asking for war. America was in negotiations with Japan and Japan was the one who chose to leave the table.

After the hull note, why would you not remove sanctions if it meant peace and Japan leaving China?

>So basically we can't anything that is accepted by any governments or modern historians?

No but many politicians have apologised for Nanjing which was a lie, comfort women are too.

>But it did, Tojo claims that Pearl Harbour was because of the Hull note, which is why he was sad about attacking America because he never wanted to.

Where does Tojo say this? Do you have a link?

Him feeling bad does not implicate the Hull Note, instead it just shows that he knew he was about to make a bad decision.

>sounds like america's fault

"X" makes a promise of bad faith. "Y" Realizes this and makes it clear that they will not deal in bad faith. "X" attacks "Y" because they can't make an agreement based off bad faith.

How is this America's fault that Japan was acting like a deceiver and an ass?

>Karafuto belongs to the Ainu, Ainu have more ties to Japan than Russia.

Ethic ties isn't the only metric for land possession. Japan gave it to Russia, it belonged to Russia. Furthermore, it doesn't change that the Russo-Japanese War was fought over Manchuria and Korea, not Karafuto.

>we protected Korea from the Russians, Korea would've been worse under their rule

Completely undefined. Saying that they were better off with Korea than Russia doesn't mean a whole lot when there is no way to prove that.

Also Korea still holds resentment against the Japanese so it's not like you guys were great.

>Comfort Women were fake

Okay lol, sure why not.

>Possibly 43% is quite high, maybe it meant 43% in poverty

Poverty isn't the same as forced labor or slavery. If the argument was that Japan got rid of slavery, well it was mostly already gone. And they inserted plenty of their own forced labor.

>Japan improving Korea

Yeah the Soviets loved Stalin's 5-Year Plans as well.

The Korean's believed there was a Cultural Genocide being committed against them.

Not to take away what Japan did with Korea, but not everything was done in a way that respected the Koreans.

>After the hull note, why would you not remove sanctions if it meant peace and Japan leaving China?

Because Japan never removed any troops from either China or IndoChina to prove that they were working in good faith. In fact they did the opposite. Of course America will not lift sanctions until they see improvement.

>No but many politicians have apologised for Nanjing which was a lie, comfort women are too.

Okay, but then why are you acting like anything being mentioned by the Governments can just be dismissed. The Jap Government doesn't agree with what you're saying about the Hull Note.

>How is this America's fault that Japan was acting like a deceiver and an ass?

How was it a promise in bad faith? We sent troops to Indochina but I don't get how that is in bad faith.

We attacked before the US would attack us.

>Manchuria and Korea

I addressed that, if they had Korea they could easily attack us, we did lots of good for Korea, probably more than what Russia would have.

>Also Korea still holds resentment against the Japanese so it's not like you guys were great.

Brain washing, the US appointed the first president of South Korea, the man had attempted to assassinate a Japanese before, he was angry at Japan because he was one of the slave owners and after that he lost a lot of his power/wealth.

Many Koreans fought for Japan under Korean names

>Okay lol, sure why not.

Not a single women claimed to be forced to come to Japan until after 1989

>Poverty isn't the same as forced labor or slavery.

You're right, it might've been a poor translation I'm not too sure why it said 43%

>If the argument was that Japan got rid of slavery, well it was mostly already gone

5% isn't nearly gone

>Not to take away what Japan did with Korea, but not everything was done in a way that respected the Koreans.

The Russians wouldn't have either, we had to protect ourselves from the Russians, it was either Russia takes Korea and are in a position to attack Japan or Japan takes Korea.

>We attacked before the US would attack us.

The Japanese colonization of Korea has been mentioned as the case in point of "cultural genocide" by Yuji Ishida, an expert on genocide studies at the University of Tokyo.[9] The colonial Japanese government put into practice the suppression of Korean culture and language in an "attempt to root out all elements of Korean culture from society."[9]''

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Japanese_sentiment_in_Korea

It's not just brainwashing when it's the majority of an entire nation that hates you.

>5% isn't nearly gone

By all accounts it was closer to 1-2%, but it's hard to quantify so I just rounded up for the sake of not making an argument out of it. Percentage points like that shows how it was falling out of favor and disappearing naturally.

I would've disappeared entirely eventually even without Japan.

>The Russians wouldn't have either, we had to protect ourselves from the Russians, it was either Russia takes Korea and are in a position to attack Japan or Japan takes Korea.

Okay, but that doesn't change how Japan had a Pan-Asian belief that they would control all of Asia and rule rightfully with the Japanese on top. You can argue that they wanted Korea to defend against the Russians, but it's so hard to isolate any one thing that caused it that you can't say the Russo-Jap War was mainly defensive.

Tojo was loyal to the emperor and the emperor didn't want to attack america unless it was necessary

>Because if you say you're going to remove troops from indochina so a deal can happen, you don't add more troops.

They hadn't made any agreements on the negotiation.

>

And we're in a Trade War with China. But if Trump sends Troops into China the world would justly say that it was unprovoked. There is nothing that America did in the Intra-War Era to say that we were going to attack Japan in any definite nature.

It's more if China had ignored all US efforts of peace and had plans to attack the US.

>I understand. I'm just making it clear that the Russo-Jap War wasn't for Karafuto.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Japanese_War

Russia gave Karafuto to us after it.

>It's not just brainwashing when it's the majority of an entire nation that hates you.

>In 1945, Japan was beaten at the Pacific War and left Korea. Instead, the one who came to Korea was Syngman Rhee. The USA brought him back from Hawaii to Korea, and made him the first president of Korea. Rhee was a Korean independence activist and was in Hawaii.

>Rhee had experienced the stay in Korea in the time of the annexation to Japan for only one and a half years, because after being suspected as a terrorist at the attempted assassination of the Japanese director of Govenor-General of Korea, he escaped to the USA. Rhee was a violent anti-Japanese person. Why did the USA make him the first president? According to a book of Wansup Kim, a Korean writer, published in Japan, the USA in those days thought that it was a wise policy to make a hostile relationship between Korea and Japan to suppress Japan.

>President Rhee banished all pro-Japanese people from all official posts and schools, and began violent anti-Japanese education at every school, teaching that Japan took many good things of Korea and Japan was a terrible country. He also gave financial support to anti-Japanese activists, even when they are giving false testimonies. Every anti-Japanese policy was born in his reign. There was no freedom to tell the truth. Any pro-Japanese persons could not live in Korea. Anti-Japanese was the only way to live in Korea.

>By all accounts it was closer to 1-2%, but it's hard to quantify so I just rounded up for the sake of not making an argument out of it. Percentage points like that shows how it was falling out of favor and disappearing naturally.

>It's more if China had ignored all US efforts of peace and had plans to attack the US.

Wargames aren't actual plans. America/Russia/and every major country does these things, and if that on it's own is enough than everyone can just say they're going to war whenever they'd like.

America was still at the negotiating table. Japan walked away; Japan attacked us. They forced our hand.

>Russia gave Karafuto to us after it.

Yeah after 30 years of being in legal Russian possession after the Japanese gave it to them. The Russo-Jap War had almost nothing to do with Karafuto.

So you're saying because someone was Anti-Japanese he was able to brainwash an entire population, including the members that actually lived it.

> It might have, it might have increased, we abolished it which would naturally make the upper class slave owners angry.

Okay, but it was such a small thing in Korea at that point it's not something to give yourself a Gold Star about when you instituted your own forced labor.

>If Russia had Korea what do you think they would've done next? And what should we have done just leave korea under russian rule?

Japan didn't need to annex Korea. That was a choice separate from just keeping the ports out of Russian control.

Meeting up with some from an imageboard is weird.

Ehime isn't exactly a tourist destination, there are some nice things here but there are better places to visit as a tourist.

There is Matsuyama castle, Dogo Onsen and the Seiyo Mueseum, but none of those are in my city, there is the castle here but there are better ones, its not that old because it was rebuilt in the 1800s

>>2246189

>And the Emperor okay'd the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Because of Hull's note, he didn't want an attack on America if it was possible to avoid.

>All they did was shoot themselves in the foot by saying one thing and doing another thing.

Bringing more troops to Indochina doesn't mean we're unwilling to withdraw if the conditions were met.

>America was still at the negotiating table

Accepting the Hull's note would be suicide

>The Russo-Jap War had almost nothing to do with Karafuto.

We were given Karafuto from it

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Portsmouth

>So you're saying because someone was Anti-Japanese he was able to brainwash an entire population, including the members that actually lived it.

Obviously it's not that simple but he did get rid of all pro Japanese officials and there was Anti-Japanese propaganda taught in schools, I surprisingly somehow have a Korean friend who I asked about it, I'll update you when he responds.

>Okay, but it was such a small thing in Korea at that point it's not something to give yourself a Gold Star about when you instituted your own forced labor.

We also rebuilt the country, it used to be one of the poorest countries.

>Japan didn't need to annex Korea. That was a choice separate from just keeping the ports out of Russian control.

Are you implying Korea could fight Russia on their own?

Korea was incredibly poor they wouldn't last a week against Russia.

ab6c74  No.2246223

<A standard teeth cleaning by a dental hygienist can cost $75-$200, depending on the dentist's office and local rates. CostHelper readers report paying $80-$175, or an average cost of $127 for just a routine cleaning.

<Metal filling, also called silver amalgam: $50 to $150 for one or two surfaces of the tooth and $120 to $300 for three or more surfaces. Composite resin fillings, also called clear or tooth colored: $90 to $250 for one or two tooth surfaces and $150 to $450 for three or more surfaces.

It looks like there is a lot of good nature areas on your island. What I would be doing is renting a car in Kumamoto or something like that and trying to make it to somewhere in Hokkaido before flying home. I saw The Jesus Lizard last night and still riding the high from that show, so I'm doing pretty well.

I wasn't either until last night. My friend had an extra ticket so she gave me a call. They're a noise rock band. That singer, David Yow, was fucking nuts. He spent almost as much time in this rowdy as fuck crowd as he did on stage. At one point he jumped the barricade at the right of the stage and was about a foot away from me.

I would definitely see them again, but they're all old, so it probably won't happen.

Sadly, the only thing I don't like about it after a listen is the vocalist. The rest of it is pretty decent.

8a80b5  No.2246316

>>2246315

The vocalist is the best part to me. Sounds like he's yelling through duct tape.

I'm a fan of traditionally shitty vocalists but there's nothing redeeming about his voice to me. Must be better live.

8a80b5  No.2246318

It's because he's not a singer, he's a vocal stylist who is supposed to sound like he's yelling through duct tape, similar to someone kidnapped. It's all supposed to be horrifying.

a gacha mobage is a mobile game with gacha (lootboxes) but maybe that's a silly phrase to use since basically all mobage these days are gacha
