It's not really beating the shit out of each other as much as it is getting a proper workout
You shouldn't walk out of a jiujitsu session covered in bruises
It's counterintuitive to learning to just dominate your opponent
in jiujitsu you want to stop your opponent from tapping you with the least amount of energy possible
You want to submit them without gassing yoruself out because if you dont put a timer on rounds can go for a long time and the winner is the one who outlasts the other
in our circle of fighting we tone down our fighting levels to match our opponents
I would reccomend looking into Gracie Jiu jitsu, whats commonlycalled brasillian jiu jitsu

if your opponent attempts to upset your balance
it's just as easy to turn that into a flip on them instead of you
and if that opponent isn't trained and isn't attempting to immediately flip you after an offbalance like that they are fucked
if you're getting attacked by this person who's trying to throw you without technique, it doesn't matter if you complete the full rotation or not because you can drop them mid flip on their head if you want and injure them or you could complete your flip and knock the wind out of the mand ride out the momentum to a dominant control position
