I feel that this series, as odd as it is, deserve to be appreciated for the thing it is. Not just for the shock factor but for all the themes about love and human nature it explores. It's an imperfect series that puts Jojo to shame on how weird it is. But ultimately an incredibly tragic one that really revolves around Satan himself over Akira. So let's all discuss our thoughts on the franchise, all it's incarnations, and what we thought of the latest rendition.
Crybaby is really the first time I've really full immersed myself into the franchise. I had read Grimoire previously a bit. Didn't get into it. Going back to Crybaby, I enjoyed it for what it was but it could've benefited from being a few episodes longer and if it had bothered putting more detail into it's art. Everyone just ends up looking too flat most of the time. I will say however that it's greatest strength is the soundtrack.
