What the hell, where do I get my stuff from now?

I don't know either, Bakabt went private and I deleted my acount from there more than a year ago and now this shit. I sure as hell am not going to stream.

I guess the time has come for me to find out how IRC works.

I just found this picture which explains the situation some more, apparently the take down had to do with new EU regulations.

God I hate the EU.

We all do, can't will till my country gets a referendum to get us out of there as well.

I live in the belly of the beast. Everybody here suffers from eternal, ethnic guilt and cognitive dissonance and there is no way anything is going to change thanks to education, pop culture icons and simple peer pressure.

I really don't enjoy this timeline. At least I have anime.

>At least I have anime

Well, that's the thing, if this kind of shit continues then we won't even have that anymore in the future. At least not free and easily accessible.

There is always a chance that nyaa will come back because there have been times in the past where it also went offline for a while only to come back but with both Bakabt and Nyaa there would be no place for the average anime watcher to download their stuff. Sure, they can go to streaming sites if they have no other options but the stuff those faggots upload is all in 480p or worse (no, them saying that it's HD doesn't actually make it HD) and even then, their collections are very limited. Most normalfags who use streaming sites like kissanime or crunchyroll only really care about seasonal shows. There were a shit-ton of older or more obscure shows on Nyaa that you won't find anywhere else, nyaa going down is like the anime equivalent of the burning of the library of Alexandria.

It would be funny if nyaa going down triggered the beta uprising.

Well, even if the site stays down, I doubt all the data was erased. Somebody is probably going to do some sort of nyaamk2. Things like that happened in the past with a lot of other sites.

Well the least it will cause is that a lot of people who previously didn't really care about politics or current events will now hate the EU and support its disbanding.

So someone from cuckchan's /g/ made a temporary replacement for the site, I have not torrented anything from it yet so I'm not sure if the torrents work properly and if they've got everything back from before the shutdown but it's relieving enough that we have something for now.

>nothing will remain of the original site and all content

Gott strafe die EU.

Does anybody know what court rulings supposedly led to this decision?

 No.882

>>881

It wasn't just because of the EU though, apparently the site owner is paranoid as fuck and not even his closest staff members knew anything about his real identity aside from the fact that he lives in Sweden. Not defending the EU of course because I hate them too but the site owner is also an asshole for not at least warning us before taking it offline and not making any sort of statement about it afterwards.

 No.883

We need someone from piratebay to host anme torrent now.

 No.884

>>875

They have now added categories to the site and made trusted torrents green in color so this might actually become a full-fledged replacement in a few weeks.

 No.885

>>884

Slightly looking better version: https://nyaarchive.moe/

 No.893

>>875

The guy who made this site added the ability to upload torrents just now, anime has been saved.
