You know what really infuriates me? Anime yakuza.

Of course I know nothing about how yakuza really act IRL, but I bet my ass it's not with swords and tanto knifes. Every time I see the trope "X is a pretty tough guy, one time he went to the rival gang's HQ with a sword/stick/whatever melee weapon and beat a bunch of people there" I cringe.

They can't be this retarded IRL. They must have guns! I refuse to believe yakuza fights revolve around knifes and other melee weapons. I refuse!

Guns are heavily regulated in Nipland and the noise would bring the cops running. I don't doubt they have guns, but they probably prefer not to use them to avoid the cops more easily.

Japan's gun control laws are strict as fuck. So strict that some of the Yakuza have resorted to using toy guns that imitate a real gun shot, as in sound. They use it for intimidation and yet even possessing a toy gun like that could land them a prison sentence.

I looked it up and after I read this http://www.atimes.com/article/japans-gun-control-laws-strict-yakuza-turn-toy-pistols/ I imagine Yakuza do just go around beating the shit out of each others with knives or bats. But yea the trope of one guy beating the shit out of a bunch of other guys with weapons is still unrealistic.
