What are some shows that you think deserve more love? One show I think is extremely underrated is Joshiraku. I realise that the show is riddled with puns and jokes that would be hard to understand if you're not Japanese yourself, there are even some that refer to what then would have been recent events like the exploding watermelon joke.
Yet, if you look past that it's one of the comfiest SOLs to be ever made. Most CGDCT shows still don't focus enough on events happening in specific places in my opinion (like clubsrooms and classrooms) which kind of ruins part of the comfiness yet in Joshiraku almost everything takes place in the backstage room, other shows often try to force some sort of narrative in certain episodes as well which removes the SOL aspect of it.
Joshiraku has none of that, it's pretty much the writer shitposting through the cast of main characters (which he did in other works as well like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei). Even when they do leave their backstage room the format stays the same, it's just the characters talking to each other about random stuff and other characters are non-existent.
It's sad that it never got a sequel (though it did get an OVA which only seems to be available in low resolution). The only fansub release it got (which was from GG) also didn't do it much justice in my opinion which certain jokes not being properly transalated, they forced in a completely unrelated MLP joke in the subs for example. I'm guessing that no other group bothered with it because they'd be writing more TL notes than actual subs.
