3gatsu is the superior one. I think ryuuou is pretty disrespectful to shogi in the way it portrays it sometimes, and it's obviously shit as a harem too since it's super obvious snow white hag will win(entire ED is about her).
Shogi is more interesting and fun than chess but since you need to be able to read some basic kanji to even know which piece is which faggots just shit on it.
Shogi has only like %1 of professional matches end in draw, unlike chess where tournaments are filled with fucking draws. And the ability to use captured pieces opens up a lot of potentials, unlike chess the game doesn't get less complex in the endgame. Also shogi doesn't have a piece of shit OP piece like Queen that can single-handedly decide the match.
Everything in 3gatsu is pretty realistic, even if it's overly dramatic sometimes. There have been no superpowers or asspulls yet. Characters are shown studying and practicing insanely again and again.
In ryuuou Ai starts shogi and without any teacher becomes strong enough to beat a male pro player(he had two piece handicap but still) and solve 600 move shogi problems in her mind in about just about 3 months. The state of female shogi IRL is also even more pathetic than chess, even snow white which is shown to be weaker than any male pro player is an unrealistic exaggeration.
Also the way someone comes to an official match dressed in a retarded costume, trash talks and then casually breaks the longest match record just shows shogi is not what ryuuou is about, it's just a loli fanservice harem where the older childhood friend wins with a shogi theme.
