Dance. Not plural. It's traditional 2d GARBAGE rife with cut-aways, recycled animation, and stills. There will only be a single cheer to save shekels. if god is smiling upon us we may get 2 but don't hold your breath, especially as the studio is doing another shows.
Fucking why. Things would be different if they used beautiful CG. There'd be dancing and cheer for days. They're just holding back the potential of the show at this point I don't get it.

There is nothing that elevates a show more than cute girls dancing, singing, and being of good cheer. It is the ultimate spice that every show needs. This looks cute enough for a CGDCT, but by passing up on the opportunity to use wonderful CG and thus depriving the world of more dancing and singing cute girls, they have done themselves a disservice and destroyed potential for this to be something special.

More than half the show has gone by now, and it still hasn't done anything to differentiate itself from other CGDCT. The girls aren't particularly cute, the cheer and good will is hamstrung by SHIT dances and budget, and there is nothing engaging or gripping about the "plot." If things don't turn themselves around rapidly in the latter half this is going to be doomed to forgettable cuckime status.
A shame. If they had only used CG, it would have freed up money and talent to explore other avenues while simultaneously ensuring the series gimmick of cheer was predominantly conveyed. It could have been kino. At least Red is finally showing up. She was clearly best girl from the getgo and it's taken entirely too long for her turn to shine.

Yep, if there's anything that sets this anime apart from all the other currently airing titles, it's the hand-drawn dance scenes, even if they end up reusing the same animation sometimes. The dance sequence in the last episode was fresh though, and was much better than what one might expect from a low-profile, possibly quite low-budged, series like that.
And, of course, Kohane being the cutest girl this season, possibly second only to legendary idol Junko, contributes too.

The rest are stupid children playing pretend, and MAN-kun is right to laugh in their faces and tell them to get back in the kitchen. One might argue that the hand-drawn cheers aren't quite enough to set the show apart, but when one takes into account that virtually all dance scenes in anime are computer-animated nowadays, the fact that Doga Kobo decided to not use any CG made a positive impression on me and made me smile. Then again, Zombieland also recently ditched the CG, so this might be indicative of a positive trend in the industry.

I do not enjoy trashy animation, reused assets, or cut-aways breaking the flow and scene, so it pisses me off. The show would have been a billion times better with CG and would have had a chance of being something more than the sum of its parts because of it, but I will not sperg on needlessly.
Namino is certainly within top 3. If you'll allow me a slight cheat (it's still airing but not from this season) then I will put forth Agnes. I haven't given the topic a tremendous amount of thought, and most of my obvious picks are from shows begun multiple seasons ago, such as this one.

CG is a miracle for shows like this. It's cheap, looks great, and allows for smooth, uninterrupted dancing and singing. Perfect for constant cheer segments, as this show demands and attempts (but fails). >Are the girls actually cute and likeable?
