I'm liking this season a lot so far but as of right now I think season 1 is way better. Yep, Season 2 is definitely much less fun to watch.
In Season 1 we have a party of paranoid chucklefucks in search of a macguffin. Half of them were earnestly trying to retrieve the macguffin, while the other half were trying to fuck over the party leader.
The second half of the season was mostly about everyone trying to outfuck each other, which was damn entertaining due to how unpredictable the whole ordeal was.
The final episode is basically the entire season in a nutshell, taken up to eleven.
Also, most of the main cast had decent character developments/exploration.
In Season 2 we have heroes and villains in search of a macguffin. They fight every few episodes with the status quo remaining roughly the same, far into the second half.
Halfway into the second half we see the status quo changed slightly, but with a very predictable and unsatisfying plot twist. Monk's nihilism was entertaining to watch though.
Only Princess gets a decent character development. The rest gets little to none.
The biggest gripe I have with Season 2 was how Monk became evil, in contrast to how he was portrayed.
His desire for a meaning behind everything should've countered 7BD's meaningless desire for carnage
