Well there's the problem, the Ki-43 was fucking useless outside of suicide missions once burgers started putting incendiary .50 bmgs and armor on everything fugging the nips 10x up the ass as the majority of their airplanes didn't have anything in the way of self-sealing fuel tanks on top of Imperial Nippon's industry lacking the resources to develop new fighters in time or shut down production of outdated planes as they were busy trying to make up for all the severe combat losses already.
Unless they stay mostly in pre-1943 tech territory with magic ammo that doesn't hurt people or have the protags eventually upgrade to J2Ms, Ki-84s, N1Ks or J7Ws there's a chance it could turn into another retarded Pilot's love song-tier edgefest or worse, that GuP doujin.
Apart from that the Ki-43-I is quite limited tactically, it can't do much outside of turning even though its roll rate is nice but the low structural speed limit makes it impossibru to pull any sort of sophisticated energy fightan maneuver against a fast opponent, has neither self-sealing fuel tanks nor an armored pilot's headrest+windshield like every other modern fighter plane of that time, shit armament and is slow as fug.
