I'm not sure if this counts in the spirit of OP, but Shishunki Bitter Change is one of the better gender/body swap manga I've read.

It's about a boy and girl who bump into each other when they are elementary school age and find themselves in each others bodies. There are no body swapping hijinks, no time limit, or other romcom-style bullshit. They're in each others bodies and that's that and now they have to live their lives from then on. It neatly sidesteps any fantastic elements and cliches that are common in other stories and really demonstrates how frustrating and bitter it'd be to live another persons life.

It's pretty well written and paced, the art is cute enough, and it's not all too long.

That sounds like it would be better if that happened as teenagers or adults. Elementary schoolers haven't fully developed their personalities yet and most adults have drastically changed since elementary school, so I feel like if it happened at that age they could just sort of be themselves and no one would think anything of it.

Yeah, it'd probably be better if it they were JC when it happened, but it's not too big of a stretch to believe as they were 10 or so when they swapped. That's enough time to at least firmly establish yourself as boy and girl, along with familial relationships, friends, likes, etc etc.

The manga does go through some timeskips, showing their gradual acceptance (or not) of the physical and mental changes they undergo in their new identities and how it affects previously established relations for better or worse. It's pretty good man. I like it because it's no bullshit. It manages to convey just how frustrating and shitty an inexplicable body swap would be in real life.
