I haven't watched anything since 2010, what are some of the must-see shows since then? I used to love Mushishi, Texhnolyze, Gankutsuou, Kino no Tabi, Ergo Proxy. Are there still some calm and mythical shows like Mushishi around? What about mindfuck stuff like Ergo Proxy?

>>31056

>likes ergo proxy

so you want the anime starter pack then?

 No.31058

>>31057

Sure if it's past 2010 and worth watching.

You're asking the wrong people, this board is full of moefags.

To catch up you should check out Monogatari, Kill la Kill, Steins;Gate, Prison School, Nichijou, Fate/stay night UBW and Attack on Titan. If you want something like Ergo Proxy, check out the recent Blame! movie, it's really bland compared to the manga though but still worth a watch.

>this board is full of moefags

Yes, and?

But seriously OP, browse around the board to check - mostly - current series, see if you like something. As for what came out since 2010, that's a huge backlog it's really impossible to give a comprehensive list that won't focus on the big names/series.

And finally, we have an Anime Rec thread

>>26676

Check it out too

 No.31062

>Yes, and?

It's pleb-tier shit, it's the anime equivalent of playing generic indie puzzle games when there are better games in terms of originality, story-telling, and artistic merit.

 No.31065

>>31062

Moefags don't avoid other kinds of anime. It's just more prevalent. Literally at least one every season. At least

Actually good and innovative anime is rare to come by. Most seasons have a couple maybe more, but because they differ in genres, their audience (moefags included) splits between them, making it seem they are more restrictive than moeshit.

But moeshit is universal and unifying. The common denominator (for most of the audience at least). Wether you find it a problem or not doesn't change the fact that they are more popular.

Sage for moe-discussion in an anime rec thread

 No.31071

>>31059

You're complaining about moefags but recommending Nichijou? I don't have an issue with what you've recommended but that's a strange attitude.

>>31056

It's right at your cutoff, but have you seen Sora no Woto?

 No.31083

>>31062

>p-pleb tier shit

>attack on titan

Keep nipping at the ankles of your superiors, it's really endearing.

To answer OP's question: Kino no Tabi got a remake called Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World, consensus on /a/ was that it was a little bit worse than the originals but pretty good anyway. Uchouten Kazoku is about tanuki and tengu and such living in modern Japan with a really strong first season. Made in Abyss is a dark fantasy anime with top-notch music.

 No.31104

>>31071

Nichijou is more comedy than moe.

>>31083

>Keep nipping at the ankles of your superiors, it's really endearing.

I don't understand wtf you're trying to imply but Attack on Titan is an essential post-2010 anime.

 No.31221

>>31083

I wouldn't call the recent Kino anime a remake so much as a new adaptation given that most of it is stories that weren't in the old series. I liked it for that. Giving the other characters a spotlight was something I really enjoyed even if people complained about a lack of Kino. I think it's definitely worth seeing.

>>31104

Moe isn't an overarching theme so much as a feeling one gets from cute and lovable girls, so it having comedy elements doesn't detract from this in the least. And Attack on Titan is hardly essential.

 No.31705

>>31104

Attack on Titan is shounen-tier trash. I enjoyed it at first, but the fact that it kept going on, the creator is an attention whore, they are milking it for all its worth, and how dumb it is that people transform into titans made me permanently drop it, remove it from my hard drive, and quit associating with people that fawn over it.

>>31059

The board does have a lot of moefags that shit on anything that doesn't pander to them, but I don't understand your recommendations at all. The guy knows what he likes, and Kill la Kill, Nichijou, Fate series (which he likely already can find out about if he liked the first anime), and Attack on Titan don't seem to be it. Also, I heard the Blame! movie wasn't just bland, it was complete shit, so I'm assuming you're wrong about that too. How old are you exactly?

Polite sage for no contribution.

Most posters here are normalfags with shit taste and can't give you what you need as others have stated before me. You seem to like the kind of artsy stuff that doesn't really pander to modern-day otakus, that's what I prefer as well so I'd say you'll probably like the following:

>Ping Pong the Animation

>Tatami Galaxy

>Uchouten Kazoku

>Monogatari series

>first season of Space Dandy

>Flip Flappers

>Katanagatari

>Kyousogiga

>Redline (came out in 2010 so you might have seen this)

>House of Five Leaves (again, came out in 2010)

>Mahoujin Guruguru

Not sure if you're even going to notice this post seeing as the thread is locked but I'll warn you that if you really haven't seen anime since 2010 and you're going to try out more recent stuff, prepare to be massively disappointed. Anime of the current decade panders way more to teenagers, women and any other group of people with low attention-spans thus the writing mostly revolves around doing everything as quick and loud as possible. Anime has declined drastically visually due to most shows preferring to waste their budgets on famous voice actors rather than on hiring more animators.

Most people online would say that anime is doing just fine but that is also due to people's standards getting lower every year due to more and more normalfags infesting the medium. I'd recommend you just look for some cool OVAs from the 80s and 90s after you're done with the shows I listed.

How can you now watch anything in 8 fucking years what???

But what i recommend is to watch the newer mushishi stuff its great.

But in general nothing great to be quite honest.

If you want something kind of seasonal i can recommend made in abyss.

As a mushishi fan i loved it so much.

But in general dude… These last 3-4 years were a mistake.
