I didn't bother watching it because I remembered the last time CN produced an anime, the second half of Big O.

They turned a really neat noir/scifi about forgotten technology into a trainwreck of QUALITY that just repeats half the shit from the first season and wraps it up with some 2DEEP4U Eva knockoff garbage.

I was already avoiding it but I've heard it's full of CURRENT YEAR retardation and no one seems to have anything positive to say about it.

Didn't someone from AS say they wanted to ruin anime and hated people who watched it? Not gonna waste the HD space.

Just looks like another shirty modern anime. Being a Toonami oldfag FLCL was/is one of my favorite animus. It's a shame they're turning it into a cash cow. Animation doesn't hold up (in fact it looks cheap compared to other modern anime) and adding more grills will only attract newfags. When they inevitably introduce faggot propaganda is when I'll completely drop off

Mike Lazzo cut off anime entirely from the AS lineup back when the original Toonami was canned so they could plug their own shitty shows on the network. Then anime morphed into le nerd culture so they brought it back to make a profit

They're playing it safe, but knowing how fucked up Adult Swim is behind the scenes and how much assholes are there fighting over influence and funding, they can shove it right up their asses. My only prediction is, this is gonna be like any Netflix-ordered anime, nothing groundbreaking or new because it's been almost two decades since it first aired, nostalgiabaiting.

I get tired of nihilistic characters easily. Even the last FLCL barely managed to be good, and did so in spite of it's "uuughhh life is haaaarrrdd and boooriiing and people sssssuuuuuck" characters.

I'm only watching it because I want to know what the fuck they did to the plot, and seeing the treatment older characters get.

The protagonist's mom looks a bit like Mamimi (well, a "K-ONized" version of Mamimi, anyways), and she mentions that she's waiting for someone (presumably Hidomi's father), and mentions him during a sequence with the MM iron, like making a hint about some older character (naota?) being related.

Also what's up with Hidomi's tshirt during the night sequence?

Aw man, I've been trying to build up the will to watch it. Feels like a chore even before clicking on "download". I might pass on this one unless streamanon decides it's either worth a watch or worth torturing us with it.

Visually, it looks very lifeless. Like it will try and have frantic and cartoony moments like the original, but it comes off as stiff. I can't speak of the people who are making it, but it feels passionless and like it's just going through the motions. Like when you watch one of those direct to video Disney sequels. I hope this fails and Adult Swim loses money on it to keep them from trying this shit again. You bet your ass that if they could talk Sunrise into it, they'd make a Cowboy Bebop sequel or prequel.

It doesn't feel like the original at all. From the atmosphere to everything else, it just doesn't catch me in the same way.
