Yeah, it seems like that was just a gag you're not supposed to read too much into. I mean, let's not forget that it's slice of life we're talking about here. It's not exactly rare for them to not have an actual plot, but instead just be a succession of random situations and to never go anywhere. For all we know she's just a quirky side character that will show up whenever Jahy fails at something.

I'll keep reading it, but I fully expect that I'll just drop it at some point. Slice of life just isn't my thing. The problem is that after the running gags got old, all you're left with are the boring everyday situations. I very much prefer the more classical stories. The stories where the first few chapters establish what the story is going to be about and then stuff actually happens. The stories that have a beginning, a middle and an end.
