I didn't care for Yuru Yuri much untill S3 when Sakurako stole the show. That got me interested interested enough to read some secondary stuff like Yuru/Zero which convinced me to rewatch the whole series and I suddenly found Kyouko much more interesting.

Why? I'm pretty sure season 2 had a lot of her as well.

Third season is generally seen as the worst one by hardcore fans because it was made by a different studio, didn't have certain gags in them like the "akarin!" sequence at the start of every episode and was more focused on being SOL than comedy.
