Are we allowed to speak about to coming wave of Hollywood anime adaptations? It seems to be too problematic for /a/

Most of the films he directed look like shit but I'm not gonna watch it anyway and I'm not familar with Battle Angel so I guess I don't care too much. I didn't really care about the Ghost in the Shell adaption either for similar reasons, I believed it would just fall under the radar and never get popular enough to earn lots of money. For normalfags it's probably too weebish and hard to get into because they don't know shit about the source material and for fans of the original material it's a fucking disgrace so there's really no audience for these type of things. Once the directors realise it doesn't actually make money they hopefully just stop, I think something similar happened with all those 2000s videogame adaptions.

What I do fear is that this is one of serveral tactics by the (((western industry))) to change anime to be more leftist like they have already done with videogames and comics, I think this would also explain why big companies like Netflix are suddenly so interested in funding anime projects. Hopefully I'm just looking too far into it.

Sounds perfect for the lol so nerdy le bazinga crowd, it worked for capeshit.

Please tell me you mean Eden of the East and ignored the "t" and it's not End of Evangelion. If they seriously make live-action Evangelion then I might take back >>1486 because the Japs themselves have already shat on it enough with the remakes. I don't want normalfags to act all "nerdy" and pretend that they know anything about the series because they watched the Hollywood movie. In the same vain that they pretend to be Marvel fans for having seen all the movie adaptions.

All of the big entry-tier anime adaptations have been in the works for years - GITS, Akira, Bebop, Gunm, Death Note. I assume they started churning them out now because kikes think that chinese cartoons are just like capeshit, so now is the time. Also, female protagonists are very common in anime and they no doubt want to capitalize on the stronk independent wommyn fad.

>What I do fear is that this is one of serveral tactics by the (((western industry))) to change anime to be more leftist like they have already done with videogames and comics

They pozzed all the western shit, but Japanese media is doing fine. Japs really don't give a flying fuck about the PC west, being a 100% patriarchal society and all. Just recently some soyboy burger developer was complaining about Japanese games being misogynistic. God bless Nippon.

As for (((Kikeflix))), I am also troubled by what kind of product they are going to produce and how much of an influence they are going to have over the development process. At best, they'll just throw some cash at Madhouse to remake some classic anime, at worst, they'll demand some progressive changes. Another thing to consider is general burgerization, like 3D Saint Seiya they announced. 3D is a very small niche that isn't particularly popular in japan, so I don't see this as anything but an appeal to the burger market. I instantly think of that recent Voltron cringe. It wouldn't be anything all too new though, japs animated most of the western shit during the 80s, so it's not like it's gonna have any influence on the native anime.

>Japs really don't give a flying fuck about the PC west

I know that but I can imagine that if Japs work under a western company who funds their project that they might not be able to put certain elements into their works. You are rightfully afraid of what kind of authority they might have in the future, if Netflix and similar companies become "big players" in the industry then, regardless of what Japs think of PC bullshit, they themselves will force the creators to fill their works with leftist propaganda.

We would also have to say goodbye to things that are almost exclusive to Japanese media and would never be allowed in western shows and films; lolis, male characters being redpilled on women, slice of life (because normalfags don't have the attentionspan for it), female characters having big breasts (because that's deemed offensive by feminists), harems, male characters being afraid of faggotry etc.

Oh and I completely forgot about the Death Note movie as well, it's like I just forget they ever happened after they came out.

Nah, like I said

< It wouldn't be anything all too new though, japs animated most of the western shit during the 80s, so it's not like it's gonna have any influence on the native anime.

Kikes will never become big payers in the industry because they cannot ever comprehend what is popular in Japan, they can only produce stuff from the western mentality. So whatever they pay for will flop in Japan unless they just give money to the studios to produce whatever. But that is financially unsafe, you have to manage your investments. Which is why I think we're not gonna see anything but normalfag friendly titles from them, your Saint Seiyas, Cowboy Bebops etc. Basically, every paid for anime will be an export product for the gaijins.

Netflix just Green lit 50 original anime scripts that's for sure enough to be considered a production company if they keep it up.

MAL's seasonal chart for the current season lists 177 anime, not including hentai or shows with little children as its target audience, green-litting almost 1/3th of the amount of stuff that gets aired every season is definitely not something to take lightly.

We’ll have to see how it goes. For the most part, they’ve successfully told off Western busybodies before (e.g., the 2016 UN response). While Japan has their own busybodies, they’re brushed aside for more important issues in society than in media. Anime is a high profit niche industry that only profits in its domestic market; we as the foreign market are only a small percent of their revenue. China is more important to Japan than anything else these days.
