Giorno wants to be the best criminal, but oh no! Criminals deal drugs! This isn't what Girono signed up for! He teams up with Bruno who's also a criminal who hates crime, then through a streak of bad luck he ends up having to kill Polpo, which creates some kind of power struggle within the gang involving a grab for a stash of money. Then that doesn't really go anywhere, and Bruno and co are employed to Deliver the boss' daughter to him. I guess her life is suddenly in danger because of the power struggle within the gang? Wait. Was the stash of money code for Trish? Okay, so they get Trish to the boss, and it turns out the boss wanted to kill Trish because if the wrong person were to get their hands on Trish's DNA it could lead them back to him, and Bruno's like "no, that would be criminal behaviour, and I'm better than that", and they all run away except Fugo who's too smart for this, and the boss' loyal men take chase.

Part 5 can be easily remembered by knowing that Giorno wants to become the mob boss and thus his quest to do so begins, fighting the assassination squad over Trish only to then steal her back after Diavolo tries attacking.
Believe it or not Fugo got dumped because Araki had this whole thing planned out involving him betraying the gang but he was ultimately in a very bad time in his life at the moment and felt that doing so wouldn't be something he'd enjoy writing. Ciocolatta arguably replaced Fugo's intended battle or was intended to be Fugo's opponent from the Boss's personal guard squad because their stands are both viruses and later Giorno was supposed to fight him. But Araki dropped the plot line as said before.
Anyways sorry for going off on a tangent, after the 1st half of part 5 the gang fights the boss's guards instead then eventually Polnareff contacts them where the boss plans on directly fighting them himself, then Giorno uses the arrow and kills the nigga. After that no one knows what happens, I think there's a flashback one Giorno becomes boss but really at that point who gives a shit. Everyone dies in part 6 anyways.
Come to think of it all Jojo parts can easily be summarized.
Part 6 is battle after battle, then finally Pucci resets the world, except that was pointless too because we went to a different time line than that one anyways.
Really Araki isn't forgetful, he just doesn't give a shit about plot threads he starts and gives them no pay off for one reason or another because he knows people will buy his stuff anyway.

I've seen a bunch of theories on what his stand could really be like, one theory is that after consuming the enemy in full the stand just revives Carne and the repeated resurrections are why he looks fucked up.
Another one is that it's like Devo and highway star, gets faster and more powerful as the user gets injured but heals the user by devouring the enemy. That would explain why he only called his stand out after Mista shot him, as it's useless when he's healthy. Except the idiot underestimated Mista and got murdered, which activated a hidden ability he'd never seen before like the writings on the plane said. With the user death the stand remains at infinite speed but can't heal the user making it a powerful posthumous revenge ability.
I think this one makes most sense, as it'd be a really risky stand requiring the user to get fucked up just enough to not die, having a powerful secret ability that'd make your enemy not want to kill you makes perfect sense.

But recently I read through SBR again and I didn't even like the beginning. I think it was just the sheer effect of feeling fresh. 1 and 2 are perfectly cohesive but they are also short. 3 is a pretty steady journey to DIO who remains a constant believable threat, but there are the fake deaths that cheapen the massacre at Cairo somewhat. 4 doesn't even try to be cohesive since it's pure saturday morning cartoon hour.
5 is really kind of a mess, it tries to recapture 3 in the first half and 4 in the second half without really having a working shtick outside battles, and of course Fugo is dropped immediately after Illuso and officially leaves after King Crimson. Gold Experience's insane versatility makes it a second Crazy Diamond and the whole Requiem Business retroactively shits all over 4. It is more enjoyable in anime form, but to me there's no question Araki constantly winged it.
6 is an interesting case because, like 5, it completely changed direction and tone halfway through and does take away from DIO. But the main problem with the part is that
the plot neglects the interesting premise. It does one thing very right and that is Jolyne. She has the most solid character arc of all JoJos. She starts off naive, weak and fearful, and steadily grows fearless and skilled to the point the villain outright tells his underlings she isn't to be taken lightly. I guess you could say Johnny has a similar growth, but Jolyne beats him by the fact she doesn't get bullshit Stand upgrades and becomes more powerful solely through creativity with her Stand and willingness to put everything on the line.
