What do you think of this masterpiece?

 No.908743

Seems to get a lot of shit for no good reason. I read the manga before watching the animu and enjoyed both in a "my heart is slowly dying" kind of way.

The movie is complete trash though.

TRASH

 No.908748

It's been on my backlog. I thought it looked cool.

 No.908749

It was pretty interesting. Took the whole "my girlfriend is a secret military weapon" idea to the extreme. Romance with fantasy politics like this is my kind of thing, but it did have faults. That said, it is way better than most of the trash people gobble up these days.

 No.908786

I enjoyed it while I was younger but think its pretty trash now. It has a name that draws the eye, but the story is retarded. I remember watching the fansubs back in the day where the subbers left a note around episode 8 or 9 recommending that the viewer stop watching her if they wanted the show to have a happy ending. I remember there being an OVA or side story called Another Love Song. Thats a total waste of time.

I enjoyed the manga greatly but I see that most people call it trash. I might have to re-read it to see if it holds up. Never saw the anime. I was shocked with the last tome, never thought they'd let a (watered down) sex scene, especially with a petite girl that passes for a loli, though it wasn't current year, so manga in my country was barely noticed. I've had several years of liking lolis by then but I was surprised to have that kind of stuff being sold like no big deal in corner bookstores.

Never forget.

The movie was pretty bad, and was the final nail in the coffin after the horrendous OVA.

Thank god for the VN allowing us to go along with her.

Haven't watched it yet, but it's Gonzo so it's no wonder it's good.

 No.909664

Only watched anime and it left me confused more than saddened.

Did manga at any point explain what exactly the fuck girl was? A robot? An android? An alien? Did it explain what exactly happened at the end?

It felt like low budget evangelion.

You have to pay attention to the plot, what's going on and be able to formulate what it all means by yourself by the end. In short, humanity wrecked the planet and instead of trying to fix shit, they decided to fight over what was left and created "new weapons" in order to do so.

Japan's so happened to be some uncontrollable nanite thing and when the world realised what it was capable of (as we see by the end of the series with Chise being some world ending spaceship), the world decides to invade Japan. It also doesn't help that it acts out on its own and starts destroying foreign cities.

That said, the manga does it way better than the anime, but it's the same for the most part. However, there's a lot going on behind the scenes and you are expected to piece things together yourself. Both in the anime and the manga.

I grabbed it but haven't watched more than one episode yet. The voice acting is awful, on par with your average English dub. Since the release I got was dual audio, I tried that instead to see if it was any better, but unsurprisingly it was not. I'll suffer through the QUALITY though; I enjoyed the first episode as a teaser of what is to come. It seems this anime just excels in other areas.

 No.910391

A few months ago I watched up to episode six and dropped it. There were a few aspects I found silly that could have been better executed in my view. Is it really a "masterpiece?" I might have to pick it up again maybe. Some of my favorite anime have been ones that I dropped midway through only to come back later.

 No.910439

I loved it, but I think the very first chapter is underrated. It's just a perfect short glimpse into the kind of typical awkward relationship they might have had right before everything goes wrong. I think people who put the warning further into the series missed the opportunity to put it right at the start, once she grows a minigun you should know full well what kind of ending you're in for.
