What do you think of Ikigami?

 No.881661

I recall quite liking the first few volumes, but I haven't kept up at all. In which directions did it go?

 No.881679

Not worthy of a thread, to be honest.

>/a/ can have one thread for any inane, QUALITY-filled anime of the season but god fucking forbid there's a thread on a manga series

Kindly remove yourself.

It gets more political in the last volume and I felt like the ending was a bit disappointing, just a little bit

I guess it's a bit inevitable that a manga about a government-imposed date of death would tackle rebellion eventually, but I liked the nihilism of the first chapters, where the Ikigami was recognized as evil, sure, but it was just treated as the occasion to observe characters react to it. I was hoping it would never get to the point of the MC abolishing the system. This series never was about hope.
