Hovercar-san will save us all once the budget inevitably drops to half a pizza when working overtime on weekends/episode.

Off topic question but why is it that Studios have only now started producing TV Anime in native 1080p? Prior to this season such things were usually reserved for BD releases judging by the average Erai/HS output.

>Off topic question but why is it that Studios have only now started producing TV Anime in native 1080p? Prior to this season such things were usually reserved for BD releases judging by the average Erai/HS output.

Most studios don't produce in 1080p, SAO and Bakutsuri Bar Hunter are the only anime this season made in 1080p.

https://anibin.blogspot.com/2018/09/blog-post.html lists the master resolutions for this season.

>such things were usually reserved for BD releases

BD releases are very often a high quality upscale and not a remaster, remastering the anime just isn't worth the effort for most studios.

>judging by the average Erai/HS output

If you talk about the HS file sizes, then it's because CR killed their LQ stream, which was what Horrible Subs ripped.

Erai usually ripped the HQ stream, that's why their versions had bigger file sizes than the versions on HS.

For example CCS: Clear Card-hen episode 1:

Erai: 1.06GB/498.91MB (1080p/720p)

HS: 570MB/341MB (1080p/720p)

Why though? It's not like the hardware required for such things is an expensive rarity in CY+3, nor should encoding h.264 at 720p and 1080p/real-time downscaling of 1080p content to 720p be much of an issue.

I guess Pitohui might have been too annoying for some people but she was pretty much just a "1337 pro gamer" LARPing as a Black Lagoon character. The gamplay was handled better too. Sure, not everything made perfect sense but unlike SAO it actaully feels like the author knows how a game works.

Actual spoilers: Instead of a bad guy that can use cybermagic to hold his entire playerbase captive, the "villain" in this on just threatens to kill herself if she doesn't get what she wants. The ending was nice too. You'd never see it play out like that in SAO.

GGO has:

Sure the overall arc story is retarded (let's face it, it's still in SAO world so they're contractually obligated to tie it in the story. Which means it needs to be pointlessly edgy and depressing) but it's clearly just an excuse to get great animation, cool scenes and fun character interaction.

Jesus Christ on a stick, when was the last time you saw an anime from a big franchise that was just plain fun to watch?

It's a fun anime that show clearly the creator of that show wanted people to have fun watching it and in fucking 2018 it doesn't get better than that.

Coming out of SAO, GGO is better than it needs to be. Battle Royale theme seems timely but I'm sure the LN was a little ahead before that craze even started. I also thought that one arc with the dying girl was good where they try to honor her memory in the game. The only real flaw was the terrible Asuna/ Mother drama resolution. Is it so hard to make a show about video games that is fun?

New series seems to want to try to tie up loose ends from the previous series (the last remaining laughing coffin member) and stuff that I guess was a loose end but didn't really need further explanation in my opinion (the reason behind the creator and the seed program to proliferate more MMOs). There also seems to be this forced references to Alice is Wonderland that it's going for which I think will be grating if there is more than just the company name, title of anime and girl in MMO dream world that is experienced through your soul that goes through a series of tubes. Looks like we're back to the original stupidity of SAO again.

You are not looking at this from the correct perspective. Copyright isn't meant to benefit the consumer, but to protect the creator. Without copyright, you can write a novel, and some asshole can take credit for it and sell it, and you have nothing to challenge him with. You do not own what you created. That situation is a hell of a lot more "inherently abusive" than your concerns about sharing.

Copyright is just meant to protect the intellectual property during the time the author can reasonably sell it. After his death, it should go to the public domain. And that is where Disney is abusing it, by endlessly postponing the fall into the public domain. That is where it stops being fair to the creator and is just preventing old shit to become part of the general culture distributed freely.

Calling someone a Gary is nice and easy; it lets you show someone that you are knowledgeable about storytelling despite never having really studied it. You can use it to refer to every competent character-- even incompetent characters-- and it will seem like your complaints are substantial, even if they are empty. It's a real hit with the plebs on Youtube, and it works well in this case, because nobody questions anything said about Kirto, no matter how dumb, as long as it makes him look bad. I've enjoyed Sword Art and Kirito.

1.) Wanting to help people and abandoning them to help yourself, is something I have personally experienced at his age, and allowed me to connect with him on the very first episode.

2.) The conflict about loving strangers and wanting to be alone. Solving this by un-personing yourself to one, keep the target away from other people and perform an act of love, two, to be left alone, and three, to punish yourself for prioritizing yourself over others, and worse doing it for something that might be petty. I experienced that too.

3.) The conflict between the realization that you have spent too much time on videogames, and need to get rid of it all to get your neet life back on track, and the following realization that you have experienced things that have made your life better, and that you have to be online less, but there is a need for balance much like Kirito's.

That's just Kirito. I might not have experienced falling in love with your brother like Sugu, but to me, unlike shows that come across as baiting a fetish, it was presented in a believable, tragic, and emotional way that had me wishing for her happiness. The cast is quite lovable.

And it shows you all this without beating you over the head, which might be why some people don't notice it, so please don't be so quick to blame the show when things don't make sense to you. In life, when we fail to understand someone, we consider that the fault lies with us, right? We don't assume that we understand everything, are infallible, and that it is always the other person's fault. At least, I hope most of us have the maturity to think this way, so please don't be so quick to blame other people for enjoying something you do not, and implying that there must be something wrong with them.

You're creating a strawman about how sword art fans dislike Goblin Slayer. I like them both, though the goblin slayer anime is far worse than the manga, and even as a fan, I cannot deny that the animation is really bad (though not as bad as Overlord, another great story ruined by the anime). >Without copyright, you can write a novel, and some asshole can take credit for it and sell it, and you have nothing to challenge him with.

You obviously never studied how commercial publishing worked before copyright, spoiler: authors sold manuscripts to publishers under agreement to share profits off the first print run. This got the author money, and if he wanted to keep on making money off of writing, he'd have to write more. Not that I am a fan of commercial publishing at all, but please study the history of it (Europe and China both had commercial publishing industries for centuries without copyright.) I also am not aware of any historical examples of someone 'taking credit' for another's novel, how would that even happen unless you lent your manuscript to a friend and he stole it and tried to pass it off to a publisher as his own. In which case he would be a thief, we already have laws against theft.

Not that the creation of culture should be tied to consumer sales at all, that just incentivizes the mass printing of shit. People writing because they want to tell a story for the sake of telling a story, or else a system of patronage, whether from a crowd of from a wealthy donor, is superior in this regard, you get fewer works but better.

"The creator" wants to lounge around collecting royalties the rest of his life from work he did ages ago, meanwhile preventing people who bought, and now own, his story, from sharing it with people. Image someone who told you a joke he came up with getting mad because you told it to someone else and demanding you pay him 'damages'. You'd think he was petty and greedy, and you'd be right. This whole mindset that culture should automatically translate to income is rooted in avarice. The fruits of writing a book isn't money, it's a book, which is a pretty cool thing. And people sharing it freely doesn't net you more money, but it gets you something even more valuable: it gets you people. Their admiration, their love and loyalty. Fans of authors like them, it is only natural. They get famous, it wins them friends. Which is also used to make money, people will pay famous authors to come and give talks, among other things. (See also: patronage).

That's not enough for "creators" who want the fame, plus the ability to lazily profit from work they did decades ago. Which has the effect of turning normalfags from participants in the creation and propagation of culture, into mindless, passive consumers. All to protect a business model that "creators" don't even make much of a profit off of, it's the executives of big media companies. Very few published authors actually make a living off of writing, let alone get anywhere near as rich as their publishers. It's a bad system any way you cut it, except for the minority of people making money off of it.

That's irrelevant if the box with text on it keeps talking about what the group is supposed to enjoy, and how fans of certain shows belong to other websites. No assumptions are even needed on this case, as he just named what the textbox is doing in plain sight.

The implication that you cannot know anything about the person you are talking to online because they are textboxes is silly. Every time we communicate, we reveal some part of ourselves.
