>Spice and Wolf.

>Supposed to be a show about pure romance.

>Holo jokes about having fucked men in the past, but doesn't remember him. Implies that if they didn't have their child Holo would have fucked Lawrence and then forgot him after he died.

>Entire episode about NTR,Lawrence vividly imagines a Shota fucking Holo.

>Holo even seems in the process of cucking Lawrence, only reveals her ruse at the very end.

>Through the books Holo is an abusive cunt, it becomes a game between the two to have loud fights.

>The Wolf situation which may or may not be bullshit.

>Has Lawrence adopt a Christian Shota, onlyhas a child later.

I have a feeling this isn't actually what people say it is.

Normalfag anime viewers don't actually think about the anime they watch. They only see the surface level value of a show. They just saw romance happen on screen and ignored all the details, which is where the devil is.

Season 2 literally ruined the whole franchise and is the reason we never got Season 3.

It's a series about a fox girl, what do you expect. It's just another reason catgirls are vastly superior to any sort of wolf girl or kitsune.

What's your obsession with NTR? People love using that word for everything that isn't a chaste virgin being courted and only deflowered on her wedding day. While I can understand the importance you put on that, and value it as well, you need to find a different word to describe things you don't like.

You dumb fucking cunt, the entire episode revolves around the kid stealing Holo. It's the definition of NTR. You could not get any more NTR if you tried.

So how's the LN compared to the anime?

 No.867396

Lawrence and Korbo both abandon their autistic quests and set their priorities straight all in accordance with Abe-Sama's will.

 No.867397

>>867393

I didn't bother with the LN after getting burned out on the books. Something like twenty of them, and they don't kiss until the very end and if I remember right, you're cucked out of it anyways.

Also, before it got officially translated, you had to torrent pdf's and stuff for it. The most prevalent of these torrents of fan-translations had the translator putting in his fanfic. So right after the last book ended, you were treated to fanfiction where Lawrence fucked Holo.

>Spice and Wolf.

>Supposed to be a show about pure romance.

Common mistake. it is a show about medieval economics and its practical use. The romance is an afterthought.

 No.867446

>>867434

This anon has it right. I didn't really care for the romance part at first. I was there for Lawrence selling stuff mostly.

>>867397

I mean, there are something like 18 main series novels and then two active spinoffs with at least 3 volumes a piece. The LNs themselves are pretty decent books, and like any book that gets made into a movie or tv show, the depth of detail in the writting is simply better, and the complex economic stuff they do is prefaced and explained better.

>>867228

All in all, OP, you came into the story for the wrong reasons. Sure, the two of them eventually do actually fall in love and it becomes a lot more pure, but for the majority of the series it is a younger merchant dude and his ancient fox girl traveling companion who likes to behave like a bit of an eldrich being messing with a mortal.

I would argue that her feelings for his are very fleeting for more than half of the series, but that Lawrence's persistence and his actions eventually cause her to care.

You can claim a lot of things wrong by demonizing a persons emotions, but the intention that the author has is the important part. It's not coincidental that it invokes NTR vibes.

 No.867561

The LN's are hardly much better. The economic shenanigans are alright but Holo can be such an annoying bitch sometimes that it ended up being a hinderance rather than an added layer of character development. I only made it halfway through the LN's before I dropped them the first time and then I tried again a couple years later and dropped them again around the same place because of the same issues. And I don't mean that I want the chick to constantly be salivating over the MC but I at least want her to be more of a proper friend and have a deeper bond with the protagonist over time. The books would've been better without Holo or at least with a main girl better than Holo.

A story is more than a dry telling of events. Stories have spirit.

 No.867577

>>867571

Yes and? Doesn't change how this story went.

 No.867591

>>867577

You can't negate the affects by telling the story. Saying that you're wrong because you identify with x character and x character is wrong because of a negative character trait doesn't negate whats transpired. The story is both the emotion and the events, if it had no emotional impact then it wouldn't be a good story. It would be a story without a spirit or a soul. It would be a body without a heartbeat. NTR has both a connotative meaning and a denotative meaning.

You're missing the whole point, OP.

1) Holo is a wolf, not a human. She takes the shape of a human, but she has the morality and temperament of a wolf. She is a wild animal, not a person, she's just an intelligent wild animal.

2) She has a lifespan of thousands of years if not immortality. It's an important distinction. Expecting a woman to stay pure for a hundred or two hundred years is one thing, expecting a deity who's lived for millennia to stay pure is asking far too much. It's one thing to say "fuck me and only me" to a girl if her lifespan is comparable to yours or if yours is only like 1/2 or 1/4th of her lifespan. It's another thing if her lifespan is incomprehensible by your standards of time. Holo would stay pure and only stay with her man while her man is alive and probably for a couple centuries afterwards, and she'd probably remember him for her lifespan, but expecting that to last forever is just retarded.

This is why I tell anons not to waifu immortal or pseudo-immortal beings unless they're prepared to deal with the "after you die" aspect of such a being.

Also this. Fuck anons who think the romance is supposed to be the main part of Spice & Wolf and not just something flirted with throughout the novel.

 No.868467

>>867494

It might invoke NTR vibes, but the moral of the story is described better in the LN in that Holo was trying to get close to the fish merchant for the sake of making sure Lawrence's plans succeeded. She never betrayed him in the novel and the only reason Lawrence thought she did was because he was being a dumbass/refused to talk to her because he thought she was angry with her. At least in the novel, the whole point was to establish that Lawrence needed to have more trust in his wolf companion.

That's the point. It doesn't. If you waifu an immortal or pseudo-immortal being, just understand that she'll still be alive and kicking after you're dead and you can't expect her to stay loyal to only you some 200 years after you're gone.

This. And much relevant to this topic, you can hardly expect to be "pure" before you met her either. Remember that some most anons would see her as impure even if she didn't have sex before. A simple romance would be enough.

She's a goddess that probably had entire fertility cults dedicated to her, in the ages before NotChristianity arrived. Hard to believe nothing ever happened in the millenia she might have existed.
