I wouldn't say that, it's more that it has a different application. Hol Horse has to concentrate on the bullets at all times if he doesn't want to accidentally shoot himself (as he does in the Boingo chapter), also his range is much smaller than Mista's because despite the fact he can keep shooting infinitely without reloading, if he can't mentally visualize all the bullets they might as well not exist. Plus he looks like a retard to non Stand users because nobody can see his gun.
Mista on the other hand has sentient beings that he can use to scout ahead, have their own personality and can act independently of their user, can be positioned in advance to track bullets for Mista and overall have more ways of protecting their user. After re-reading Berserk I've realized just how much explaining every movement takes away from an action scene. I get that shit can get confusing in Jojo (especially compared to the simple sword-swinging of Berserk), but listening to Koichi scream about Black Sabbath every other second really takes away from the fight. I want to see an edit with all of the talking taken out of fights, kinda like how some videos show The World in real-time.
Also, Jojolion spoiler ahoy. I spent way too much time on this
No.874252
One part I forgot about Gold Experience is that he doesn't have control of the created flora/fauna, it only acts like its natural equivalent would. But how does that explain how Giorno managed to automatically turn a banana back into a gun only when Polpo started eating it? It's been ages since I read Vento Aureo, but I think scenes like that are why I completely forgot about this being relevant. Just another case of Araki making shit up as he goes for dramatic effect? Not that I really mind, but still.

But he definitely controlled that snake to grab the bread with the lighter.
No.874262

He says something about the bread being delicious, suggesting that the snake would want to eat it. Nevermind that I don't think snakes register a loaf of bread as food.
I think he's not supposed to control the life he creates but he totally does. Those butterflies made from notes and the frog both very conveniently came back to him when they could have just gone off anywhere and never be found again.

He can't directly control them as if he was possessing them, but he can give them instructions and they are automatically "tamed" to listen to him
No.874266
>>874265
But I can't remember any point in the manga where his plants/animals didn't do exactly what he wanted them to do. So even if he can't control them as if they were possessed, they do everything they want him to do, from grabbing helicopters, moving away so the sun can hit Dark Sabbath, snakes that bite him and conveniently have the anti-venom he needed, and so on. Let's also not forget that he can create body parts from rocks and shit so he is a better healer than Crazy Diamond, as he can heal himself as well. This is just his normal stand, not talking about GE Requirem.
I get what Araki intended to do with GioGio, giving him a weaker stand, as opposed to Star Platinum/Crazy Diamond, so to compensate he gave it a creative abilityies, but he forgets all the abilities it has, like redirecting the attacks, or making the opponents move in slow motion, and he rarely uses them creatively in fights, and because of how vague the ability of "giving life" is it creates all sorts of bullshit powers. Speaking of which, I should get back to Part 8.
No.874268

>he is a better healer than Crazy Diamond, as he can heal himself as well
There's a thought. Could Gold Experience actually heal people? If someone got stabbed, could he shove a stick or something inside the wound and turn it into the exact tissue needed to fix the wound? I think it might be feasible but it would probably require an autistically deep knowledge of anatomy and biology, whilst Crazy Diamond could just "fix" in the abstract sense by just reverting the target to a previous state, not actually having to know how or why it works in that state.
No.874272

No.874273
>>874268
>an autistically deep knowledge of anatomy and biology
I don't think GioGio needs to know the inner workings of snakes to create one, he just thinks of a snake and GE does the rest. For wounds, all needs to think is, "I need something to fix it", and GE does the rest.
Also here's a thought, if over the years GioGio replaced, let's say, Mista's organs, bones, skin, membranes and even his brain, one by one, and with a few weeks in between sessions, would he still be the same Mista, or some unholy stick and rock golem.

>if over the years GioGio replaced, let's say, Mista's organs, bones, skin, membranes and even his brain, one by one, and with a few weeks in between sessions, would he still be the same Mista, or some unholy stick and rock golem
It's still "him" so long as he has his original brain. If he started replacing bits and pieces of THAT, then we get into Ship of Theseus paradox. Really, it depends greatly which parts are replaced. Limbic system, medulla, brainstem, cerebellum, visual/motor/sensory cortex... all that stuff doesn't really matter. Start fucking with the prefrontal cortex, though, and (depending how handwavey you want GE's powers) it would radically alter personality and logical capabilities. Touch the hippocampus, of course, and you can start wiping memories.
But to point, we still don't REALLY know how the fuck the brain actually works, ie: how it stores information. The most we know is that information is encoded in the synapses between neurons, that fire in some determined sequence to replicate that information (get that same group to fire in the same way, and that's like a string of code), but that's still just another "black box". Information is stored in the brain, and then certain parts of the brain, and then in the cortex of those parts, and then inside the neurons, and then inside the spaces between the neurons... but all that's happening is we're zeroing in on the WHERE, not the WHAT or the HOW. It might be some kind of bioelectrical field, it might be something downright QUANTUM; for all the fuck we know, brains might function off goddamn strings!
In any case, then it becomes theoretically possible that if you replaced the neurons but maintained the quantum state of the particles inside the synapses, everything would remain as if the same. Like instantly copying data from one harddrive to another while simultaneously destroying the old one. Unfortunately, the amount of data it would take to record the exact quantum state of all those particles in the brain vastly exceeds the number of particles, itself; it would probably take all the supercomputers on Earth to record the brain of an ant; and that's only if you're ignoring physics that says that you can't do it in the first place while maintaining accuracy (because you can't measure them without changing them...).
Really, it's a clusterfuck. But Stands defy physics on the daily, so maybe GE can do it. Who knows? I know damn well that GER can do it, though.

So double the pleasure, but wait if GE redirects attacks, couldn't he replace all of his allies skin with rocks and sticks, and then whenever they would get hurt the damage would get redirected to the opponent. Another thing about GE's organ replacement ability that wasn't fully explained, is if it had infinite range or if GioGio had to always concentrate to keep the sticks and rocks into skin/meat/organs. If he were in a comma, would all the organs turn back into rocks? If Mista ever leaves Italy without GioGio, would his wounds from White Album instantly return and die?
The answer, of course it, not even Araki knows or remembers.

Other than that, I've not seen too many people who honestly like it the most. As it's the part where Araki was first experimenting with Stands, the abilities are really primer-tier so the battles are boring and formulaic. None of the characters are really that interesting, and it takes the badass that was Joseph and turns him into a comic-relief doddering grandpa. I wouldn't call it the WORST part, but it's definitely not better than Parts 2,4,5,7,or 8.
