Stress is well known to be able to induce panic attacks, which are your body thinking it's in a genuine life or death situation, bumping your heart rate to insane levels, giving you the impression you're dying.
Couple that with some mangakas being essentially on house arrest so they can keep up the pace, external pressure from editors and I see nothing surprising with young talents succumbing to the pressure. There's also little wonder the most experienced mangakas tend to jump ship to monthly publications after making some amount of name for themselves.

Dammit, I've been burned by Josei manga FAR to many times, latest one was "Natsuyuki Rendezvous". Premise:
>Guy in early 20's starts working part-time at a flower shop.
>He is attracted to the owner, a late 20's widow.
>Protag encounters another guy who a short time afterwards turns out to be the ghost of the shop owners husband, who only he can see.
Now you would think that the storyline would be that the protag slowly starts winning over the heart of the shop owner, while making peace with the ghost and helping him move on to the afterlife, but nope.
>Protag goes for one date with the widow.
>Passes out in a drunk stupor.
>Ghost husband takes over the protags body.
>3/4ths is the husband controling the protags body, while the is stuck in the ghost's imagination-land.
There isn't honestly any real romantic development. In the end the widow basically says "my husband has finally gone away to heaven, I guess i can start dating you now." and then the manga just ends.

I've just finished reading the big three of Okamoto Lynn's works; Nononono, Gokukoku no Brynhildr, and Elfen Lied. Boy what a wild ride that was, I've never read anything written so recklessly, in a good way. There were many points in the stories where I didn't have any idea what could happen next, simply because Lynn writes whatever he feels is the most interesting, his style and structure isn't conventional to the slightest. It's hard to explain, but imagine yourself writing every fantasy story idea you had as a teenager and implement them successfully without ever stopping to erase/delete something you thought was "stupid". Every character was written either extremely passionate and realistic or batshit insane. It's funny that I've enjoyed his stuff so much since I was initially turned off by the excessive gore in the first episode of Elfen Lied. I don't know if this is because of my tastes changing or if some aspects in the show didn't translate well from the source material. If you get legitimate mayo I can understand liking it, but most mayonnaise on the market is a mixture of egg yolks and canola oil. If you're lucky you can find an olive oil variety like >>861996 mentioned. Mayonnaise is useful when you need a fattening agent that "puffs up" for cooking purposes (such as making deviled eggs) but as a topping ingredient, butter is superior in every way.
>>861997
If you grab a stick of eating butter instead of cooking butter, such as Challenge brand or Kerrygold, it has a creamy taste to it that is far superior to mayonnaise for use on a sandwich or wrap. The issue is you only need a fraction of the volume of butter as compared to what people use mayo-wise. The only mayo I think I use as a topping is occasionally a chipotle-mayo to use on hot foods like a homemade spicy chicken sandwich (consisting of a whole grain bun, baby spinach, tomato, sometimes romaine lettuce hearts for crunch, and chipotle mayo).

Also read it for the first time. Surprisingly good. Didn't take fighting lightly, which I feel is somewhat rare when story and martial arts get mixed. I really like the part where the trainer's monologue is about the MC's ability and goes on about the MC's natural ability to feel and understand her way through techniques and to "know" what needs to be done by instinct and having her body respond without having been trained for it. Calling it talent. It's a 100% accurate way of describing it.
This is the second sport story out of Japan that I ended up liking, the first one being Cross Game.

Otokonoko Doushi Renai Chuu. I just read this autobiographical story. What a ride.
The artist is Fumi Fumiko, who did quite few other trap manga, and it's written by a trap and former JAV actor turned author. The story is about how he became a trap his daily life and his trap boyfriend who might be one of the worst cases of 3DPD I ever saw.
The difference the author and his boyfriend is pretty hilarious actually.
Kaoru:
>Born to be a trap, doesn't take hormones.
>Raised in a normal household.
>Generally happy with his live, despite being a former porn-actor.
>Loves to look like a cute girl but doesn't mind if people notice he's a guy.
>"If it's cute, fuck it!" but is faithful to the person he loves.
>Japanese.
Michelle:
<On hormone therapy and so is his sister.
<Raised by a single mom.
<Mentally unstable and probably has some daddy issues.
<Hates it when people notice that he's a guy.
<Cheating slut.
<Half-American.
The afterword talks about how they actually broke up for some time because he was seing an older man behind Kaoru's back and generally acting like a self-absorbed tranny. It ends on a positive note, with Michelle cutting all contact to that guy and stating that he wants to starts things over.
One month later:
https://archive.fo/Bjp8j
He went back to his sugardaddy like the whore he is and Kaoru broke up with the slut for good.
The lesson of this is that even a faggot who sucked dicks for money knows better than to be a cuck.

Now that the gap between translated chapters has been filled I've caught up on Hatsukoi Zombie. I have to say I think there's almost no chance of an ending I could consider good. The author has set up moral dilemmas I don't think he can adequately resolve, and I'm concerned that the manga isn't suited to handling them satisfactorily.
>Eve is a self-aware, sentient, and real person, with desires and intents, despite her non-corporeality
>Despite having gained genuine consciousness, her originally pre-intelligent and purely instinctive nature still imparts a powerful drive which urges her to her own death
>She is not wholly independent, being also tied to her creator's state of mind, but that tie is evolving as her independence grows.
What obligations does her creator have towards her, and how far do they extend? Would it be morally unacceptable for Tarou to embrace feelings that he knows would have harmful consequences for his creation?
Would it be right to allow (or help) Eve to pursue the drive that would destroy her? Or is the morally correct choice to reject it, against her wishes, in order to protect her? Given her exceptional development, that instinct is a relic of a less-developed form; should it be suppressed and locked away as just a cloud over her "real" wishes, or is it nonetheless still a genuine desire (that is, is she in her "right mind")?
Fundamentally, what is going on when a zombie merges with the human it was inspired by? It appears that the zombie ceases to exist, which is to say dies. Does it have a lingering effect on the person with whom it merges? If so, was it morally acceptable for Tarou to have deliberately abetted merges at the beginning, thereby "unnaturally" (that is to say, externally, and differently than their own inherent response to love) altering the minds of the girls without their knowledge or consent? In such a universe, to what extent is a successful first love "real", and to what extent is it essentially mind control? If there is no effect, and upon merging the zombie is utterly gone, how does this futility affect the previous questions about the morality of assisting or preventing merges?
What makes me most concerned is Ibusuki's comments about "making Eve disappear" in order to resolve the situation. The framing seems to underestimate the true severity of what she just suggested. Likewise, when Tarou rejected Ebino, it gave me the impression that if Tarou's decision was merely about who he loved more, and that he never really though about these things either. I have the sneaking suspicion that the author still, to some degree, considers Eve imaginary, despite the actual manga undeniably proving her real.
I'm not usually the kind of guy to really pick at this stuff; in fact I think fantastical stories could do with a bit more mystery behind their workings. But the questions this manga poses are too immediate and too large to just ignore, and I don't think it has the gravity to properly solve them, nor to reconcile all the significant concerns they raise. It's just a shounen romcom. There's something distinctly uncomfortable about reading a story that takes its implications more lightly than the reader, and where characters might casually consider doing morally bad things without the character or story noticing how bad they are.
No.863590
>>863576
For Hatsukoi Zombies "death" isn't a bad thing but something to be joyful about, their ultimate goal is too see the love of their hosts be fulfilled. She has grown more complex as time passed but it only served to give proper justification to her primal desire of disappearing. Eve is in panic mode because she knows nothing good will come out of Tarou getting too attached to her, their love can't be fulfilled and she will have to bear the guilt of depriving him of a proper romance with a proper human until the day he dies. Eve wants MC to pick anyone but herself because she cares about him.
If anything, this is addressing the concept of people and their waifu. A waifu is like an ideal partner, one that loves you and wants the best for you. MC is choosing his waifu over real women but, in hatsukoi zombie, the waifu knows that going 2d deprives the guy of having a proper life. A Tarou that chooses Eve will never have a real 3D relationship, will never get married, will never have kids nor grandkids. He will be missing a lot in life because he choose her and that fills her with remorse.
Ibutsuki is the 3d girl that sees MC's waifu suffering because he's infatuated with the unattainable so she wants to make him snap out of it even if it costs her their friendship.
If there is no effect, and upon merging the zombie is utterly gone, how does this futility affect the previous questions about the morality of assisting or preventing merges?
They don't merge with the crush, they just disappear. The merging seems to be something they do when the host comes into terms with the end of his first love after being rejected in a friendly manner.

>They don't merge with the crush, they just disappear
Strange. I know I had thought of it as a merger since before the painting and snowglobe thing. I'm definitely not the only one to have thought of it in those terms either. Quickly looking back through a few cases, the trail of sparkles usually does move towards the couple from where the zombie was as well as leading upwards. Maybe that was it.
>For Hatsukoi Zombies "death" isn't a bad thing but something to be joyful about, their ultimate goal is too see the love of their hosts be fulfilled
That's largely the core of what's so unsatisfying about this. I don't find that reasoning at all convincing. It's one thing to say they're just fulfilling their purpose when they're in their normal state, instinct and emotion with no true intelligence. But I don't buy it for Eve. She's too aware. What's more, she has previously rejected the idea that her presence is a problem for Tarou, even after seeing how conflicted Kyouko was. She was directly confronted by the overwhelming drive of the zombies, and by the implications for marriage and family that staying together would have for Tarou, but even so she wanted to stay by his side. The fact that she could see all that, debate the issue with another zombie, and flatly reject that instinct makes it impossible, to me, to simply say "she changed her mind" and accept it as the solution now.
