Almost all anime have 'relevant' lyrics, either through direct decription or thematically. What might be more interesting to discuss is when an opening foreshadows (indirectly, through otherwise obtuse symbolism or motifs and not just plopping events and chracter silhouettes down in front of you) or explains story/character elements that don't appear in the main story.

Alternatively I'd like someone to show me an opening which doesn't have any meaning or relation to the show it's in. That would be a bit of a feat, I certainly can't think of any.

Introduces all the characters, establishes tone; 'even a bullshit recipe is fine' i.e. if the ingredients (characters) are good than the presentation doesn't really matter (SoL/Show about 'nothing'), references to steve jobs and andrew warhol relate it to being post-modern and style over substance (again pushing modern SoL themes) and finally finishes with the phrase 'just go my way' again relating to the my pace/tekitou element of the show.

Even if you point out that I am in fact just bullshitting about the warhol/jobs and crabs/characters bits, there's still a fair bit of relevance in this opening to the actual show. This isn't to say that OP isn't on to something but he really needs to be much clearer on how sepcific 'relevant lyrics' needs to be, or otherwise what cool for the sake of cool would be to juxtapose it.

Madoka is easily way up there for hidden meanings in an opening. Also, while super minor, Baccano does a neat little trick. During the opening while it pauses and gives a title card for every character, the animation pauses on the train conductor for a moment as if it's showing his name like all the other characters, except it doesn't actually give his name since him being an actual character is a big twist.

Aniplex decided that they wanted to fuck with it on this upload but barring the actual written credits I found this OP to be very foreshadowing after I got further into the series.
