Old one is at 249 replies, might as well make a new one since the old one will die.

Fucking finally Presage and Recognize, and Kagari actually shows face during the shower fight, no lewd Suzuha though, what faggots.

Also the OP got sidegraded, the start is kinda weak, then the logo is really nice, but then it's really boring until like the last 15 seconds which is really nice.

The ED got downgraded, now it's just Kurisu walking with the phone spinning, what the fuck.

Also we got some more Lintahlo

There's also a minor editing boop right after the OP, did you notice it?

>fat kid, being a virgin, thinks she wants the d

>they both start working against Okabe

>Maho arranges a day for all three of them to "accidentally" meet in the same place

>Okabe, seeing what's going on, talks to his once best friend to bring him back to his sense

>seeing she is losing control over her pussy slave, she strategically drops the towel, hinting at carnal pleasure

>Okabe now starts scolding her

>she just sits there looking at him, bored

>the desire for pussy is too great, in defence of his lady the fat kid punches Okabe in the back of the head (a face to face confrontation would be too scary for an inexperienced kid, this way he is sure to win)

>the sudden display of violence gets Maho excited

>she jumps onto her feet and goes hold and caress fat kids arm

>this should work as encouragement for fat kid to keep beating Okabe, who is now on the floor suprised at the virgins treachery, but instead fat kid is already convinced he won the day so now he just lectures Okabe on how he is the one in the wrong for a while

>at the end of the day Maho goes up to Okabe to remind him that he still has a second chance to cheat on best girl with her, or else she will continue to ruin his life

I have to admit, she almost decived me during the first few episodes but I can now see she's just like real life cunts. Kurisu five ever.

In the VN the plan was for them to get back to the time when Okarin started having PTSD and convince him to go back in time again. It relied on the assumption that future Okabe would also send a D-Mail with instructions on how to not fuck up while doing that.

The pacing on this is dreadful. 10 minutes of slow-paced dialogue, 5 minutes of crisis introduction, 5 minutes of action, and wait until next week for resolution. My biggest pet peeve is when they don't make episodes complete in themselves, like they're breaking up a really long movie. I know that's to be expected when adapting a VN, but if they have to write around turning a (somewhat) non-linear story into a linear one, the least they could do is edit it to not feel like you're being drip-fed the VN. If I wanted that, I would've just played the VN again.

At least Mayuri's determination carried over well. Really the only thing salvaging this episode.

She manages to survive in this timeline, right?

 No.851126

Mayuri was so much better as his friend rather than another fucking love interest in the harem. I hate that 0 is essentially just about her love for the chuuni. She was his childhood friend and the absolute purity he wanted to protect. That was all she fucking needed to be. To make her out to be a serious contender to Kurisu, especially when they also added yet another but actually successful love interest in Maho (even though that entire thing has been largely missing in the anime aside from the AI and Finn making nonstop comments about it), was a terrible mistake. The first S;G was about how much Okabe loved Kurisu and all the shit he went through to save her. This was something the anime improved, despite how much people like to complain about it; it didn't need to be a harem and it was completely unnecessary. But now, even though the main motivation and goal is still to reach SG and save Kurisu (even if Okabe won't admit it himself yet), they're throwing a bunch of other girls in as part of the canon harem. It's so completely unnecessary.

Especially because we already know that it ends with him being reunited with Kurisu, so the others failed (except perhaps Maho in the future timeline without Kurisu, but that would get overwritten anyway). And of course there are the many flaws with 0, such as how it's a big loop of wasted time that retcons the personalities of the characters in the original story. Literally none of this matters because they're just going back to just before the ending of the original, which worked just fine on its own and was stronger for it too.

Oh, and as has been said a few times, the roof scene was terrible. Another roof scene that was terrible was the one with Maho and Okabe a few episodes back, where the puddles were completely different in between each shot and it was bad enough to distract me. One shot they would be standing in the middle of the puddles, another they would be on dry ground without moving. It was an important scene, so they should at least have tried to avoid making such an obvious and distracting visual mistake.

In the VN they make a point out of how the debris from the machine isn't nearly enough, so it means they got away just in time but are now stranded somewhere with no way to get back. This leads to the future where the normalfag that does nothing but stop people from doing things works to make another time machine to find the strandees, and is implied to be in a relationship with Maho. I don't remember what else because S;G0 is a horrible mess with its many overlapping routes In some of them the suit killer is Suzuha's mom, except it's actually Kagari that had a plastic surgery to look like her, in some routes it's Kagari and I think in some it's even Reyes, who the anime has largely ignored? The VN is a fucking mess and you're discouraged from reading each route in its entirety because there's so much filler and boring bullshit with Mayuri's friends. Doubt it. Unless we're going into anime-original stuff again. Since in the vn he only had to go back once in order to get Suzuha and Mayuri out before the others showed up Also the last "scene" in the final ten seconds after the credits implies this as well.

It should be no surprise that they're suddenly overloading us with anime only stuff considering this is how they'll have to rectify the two timelines or abandon the other one entirely. Also, am I the only one who thinks there should be a opposite Okabe? Kinda like a Moriarty to Sherlock, but rather than a straight up villain, it'd be someone who's ideal world line is the worst for Okabe, ie, not-Steins Gate. Steins;Gate needs to die. In the grand science adventure continuity it is this cool adventure that happens without anyone really knowing. That while the other Sci;adv titles happen you had this time flipping timeline shifting happening without anyone knowing. That was charming and cool. And S;G did that really well but it prints money so now you get all these worthless movies and spinoffs and remasters that add nothing to the series. Did the previous Sci;adv titles just sell badly? Is there a reason for this prostitution?

I agree with you there. S;G prints money, hence its proliferation. But at the same time the science in S;G is more pronounced and has a greater impact on the story. Its also believable, up to a point. The other Science adventure titles don't really have that impact. Like in Chaos;Head, its supposed to be psychology stuff, right? Turns out that 99% of it is just a red herring. Eventually the story goes off into its own thing and the psychology aspects are dropped. I'll admit I don't know jack-shit about R;N though. But id its anything like C;H, then its science part is probably lacking or absent entirely. We would've had something regarding paranormal activity but O;N was sent straight to anime production without testing it out as a vn first. Which then resulted in that particular mess.

So no, the other Science Adventure titles did not do as well as S;G.

Is this a huge plot hole or is it going to be some kind of twist? Original Okabe got mind broken by Leskinen and had his mind uploaded to Amadeus so that they could upload Okabe repeatedly and continue interrogating him if he should break/get killed. If I remember correctly his mind/self was in Amadeus until he got reuploaded to his body in 2036 by the resistance members who had rescued his body. In other words. Technically, it's been established within the series that once someone - Okabe in this instance - leaves the timeline, everyone's memories get re-arranged in such a way that makes it seem as if the leaving party did not exist at all. In this case, once Okabe leaps away, everyone could forget about Amadeus being literal spyware so they delete it now.

Anime-only fag here, I don't believe this was ever established in the anime, or if it was, they're not bothering with it anymore.

If you pay attention to the dialog it seems that they're using Amadeus-Kurisu to generate a patch to modify the Amadeus source code. This plus instructions are being sent back in time so that Daru can break into VCU and patch the Amadeus code to cause it to destroy all of Kurisu's memory data. They're not destroying her in the present, but this is kicking off a chain of events that are 100% going to erase her, hence them all bawling their eyes out.

It was like that in the VN as well, which is my biggest gripe with it. This episode is more or less faithful to the VN, as compared to the last 4 or so episodes of filler and plot changes. It was a big fuck you to figure out how to unlock the true ending and it ends up being a tiny scene that gets summed up here in less than 5 minutes. It's fine that they leave some of it to the viewer's interpretation, but it still feels unsatisfying. The anime delivered far better on this scene, as I was confused as to what actually happened when I read the VN. I also got the implication from the VN that his time machine also doesn't have enough fuel to power the unit that keeps it oriented in space-time, so they're all left behind in a desolate wasteland in the pre-historical era. I don't know if it's because I'm an idiot or if even more was left to the imagination, I can't really remember.

Absolutely nothing that happens in it is of any importance because it only exists to bring it all back to the ending you already saw, and all the things that happened in the loop are completely pointless. Maho no longer has any connection to any of them except Kurisu, and you know how often she mentioned Maho in the first SG.

Zero is an incredibly shoehorned-in sequel that tells us that the original ending was wrong for no reason whatsoever except to add more to the story because it got popular. We tried to warn you for months, man.

It felt like all the stakes, which are more world-shaking than in S;G which is more about personal consequences were forgotten in the mists of nothing happening. To me the VN felt like a gradual prelude to a nuclear war where in the anime the middle nothing much happens other than the slice of life bits and then OH SHIT WE GOTTA END IT.

Very disappointing overall.

Actually I mean the vocal version that also played in the anime as the last ending song.

How would you fix 0?

By keeping BetaOkabe as a character driven to near insanity by his choice, and driven by his desires to ensure that Steins;Gate is reached at all costs. Maybe keep it brief in a short scene where the Okabe from the doomed timeline chips in to push S;G1 Okabe to the right actions that will ensure he gets there. Maybe in a D-mail or something.

...Oh wait

>expand on the USSR timeline (most memorable part of the VN to me)

>cut out a lot of the SoL shit

>double down on Okabe’s depression to VN levels of suffering

>have better animation, especially in fight scenes

The WW3 segment is also very important because it is what makes Okabe reconsider his apathy towards the future.

I am completely befuddled at how there is no 24th episode, that that was the ending they arrived at for such a mediocre story. I understand that may be how the VN ended, but that doesn't matter to me. This is, by far, the least satisfying show I've completed in half a decade.

Just finished it and it was just as bad as I expected. No Soviet Union WW3 timeline, no Maho + Moeka operation to shutdown Amadeus, no Okarin torture session, etc. Not that any of that was top-tier stuff to begin with, but we needed something to make this show at least bearable to warrant its existence.

Vid related is the full version. The VN ending cuts out a good chunk that starts at 1:20 before the guitar comes in.

Scrap the whole thing and start from scratch. The VN had more going for it, but the story was FUBAR from the beginning. The anime fumbled around with the original story, managed to do a few things better such as scrap the whole "you've been trying to waifu a fake Yuki this whole time, Daru!", but it just gave up after the halfway point and did a straight adaptation of the VN's true ending without any of the necessary substance you'd get from playing through the other routes.

One quick idea to fix SG0 that I posted in an old thread: Say they kept Amadeus, Maho, and Kagari. They all share a common trait: they're stand-ins for Kurisu in some way or the other. Have them all be temptations for Okarin to never find a way to have his other worldline self reach Stein's Gate. He just settles for one of them and accepts WW3. The Okarin that rejects them all is the true route in the VN and the one we'd see in the anime. Would have given these characters a lot more weight to their introduction in the story, especially in the adaptation.

The story at its core is a clusterfuck. The anime just made it more pronounced since it magnified the VN's problems tenfold and didn't even bother combining the multiple routes of the VN like the original SG did with its adaptation.

S-so was Steins;Gate reached? Did they stop WW3 after the time machine got away safely? The future lab members seemed to be wearing combat stuff implying that there was still a war.

Anon, I'm afraid you didn't understand the whole point of Steins;Gate 0: This all happened so that episode 24/the true end could happen in the original.

So, having skimmed this thread, is it safe to say that SG0 isn't worth a watch? All I've seen of the series is the amine (top-tier) and the film (some problems but still satisfying), I'd rather not sour the stories by watching something shit.

If you liked the anime you will probably like this one. It's just more of the same shit.

It was a so-so adaptation that paled in comparison to its source material. Like almost every adaptation out there.

Yeah I kinda figured that out the night I made that post.

It was over a year after I watched original and the world line autism gets confusing.
