It's generally good stuff, even if the specific art direction they went for takes a bit of getting used to. I still would definitely recommend the series.

Yeah, they're going for a street play paper theater look which is coincidentally a bit cheaper to animate. I believe the Sekai no Yami series goes for a similar style.

I don't really find many things spooky, but I find the stories they tell in Japanese horror to be interesting sometimes.

Some of the episodes are kind of silly. I'd personally enjoy if there were more horror series every season instead of the 1 or 2 that occasionally come out.

I'm more partial to seasons one and five. Seasons four and two weren't quite up to par, and season three was mostly downright silly, but that's just my personal opinion. This season shows much promise so far.

Seems like it's going to be a pretty meh season, the last couple haven't really been all that interesting.
