Ai sareru yori saretai just got finished. I feel conflicted wether I liked it or not. It is nice to see a yandere being the love interest. Far too often they are played of as a joke, or else they are interested in the MC without the MC being interested in her at all.

I've been waiting for a long time for someone to discuss 'hitsuji no uta' with! I too like his artstyle.
I enjoyed the dark ambience of the series, I like to think of it like grave of the fireflies with vampires. The entire plot of the manga falls apart if you think about it for a second, thought. The sister could easily have survived if she just had drunk the brothers blood. Both of them could have survived from drinking each other's blood. The second to last chapter I was saying to myself "give her your blood! Even if you have to force her!".

Ambience, atmosphere and supernatural vibes overall are beautiful and enough to attract me but maybe i am also too spoiled by a certain vampire manga and didn't empathize enough with characters which is unusual for me as i always dive in deep. Sorry for not continuing a dialogue about the plot details. I've read his works a month ago and my memory is not very good anymore, i don't remember too much. I also want to say again that it was sad for me to discover that stories were not as good as i anticipated because i was charmed after finding his artworks. But then again, ideas like artificially revived samurai in "Kurogane" and necromancy clan in "Luno" were beautiful. I will never not enjoy to read a mangaka who has something like this on his mind even despite some flaws.

It is by the Kuroko author so they likely thought that there's a big chance that it gets popular.
There are also many manga that ranked even worse than Robot.
The issue current WSJ has is that only 12 of their 19 slots are filled with popular manga.
Some of said 12 manga will end in the next 1-2 years.
WSJ is forced to cycle through the 7 unpopular slots in hope to find the next big thing.

If Robo had a problem was that it felt REALLY forced how they wanted to make the selling points like the fujo-bait with all the possible male pairings (the rival, the honest friend, the EMPEROR, etc.) instead of focusing on actual sports and development.
Kuroko turned fujo-bait without really wanting to be one, same for Haikyuu, Robo was from the beginning blatant fujo-bait.

>Scanlators these days are so fucking weak willed
I'm not sure I'd say it's being weak-willed so much as the fact that modern scanlators have a very strong social media presence compared to the old days. Having a strong social media presence means you can earn more shekels, but it also means you're publicly out in the open with what you're translating. Whereas old scanlation groups were virtually anonymous and could largely ignore DMCA by just migrating to a new site/changing their scanlation name (or in the case of LNs, just call themselves "fanfiction" to make companies that were 14 volumes behind to actually translate future volumes or pay someone to translate portions of it in order to prove the "fanfiction" was a translation), these new groups have to actually worry about DMCA threats and the like. The easiest solution for this is obviously scanlators using anonymous image boards like that one or two groups on /u/ does, but this option makes earning donation-shekels extremely difficult so most wouldn't make the switch.

I've personally never liked Tate no Yuusha but I can see why many people enjoy it. Dungeon Seeker is fun simply because it is so over the top with it's edge. However, with crap like nidome no yuusha or Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi I feel nothing but pure anger towards the author. Every character in these stories is just so over the top evil, just to give the MC a reason to live out his tortureboner, that I'm amazed anybody is able to enjoy them.
I'd just assume that others stay on the ride just to see how bad the writing get's but judging by the usual comments that defend these stories there's tons of people that are convinced these are perfectly written revenge plots. Also, Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi made once again realize how generic and interchangeable isekai and "fantasy that works like a vidya" are.
No.841772
>>841766
Read the first chapter of Nidome no Yuusha. What a horrendous pile of shit. We have no reason to side with the protagonist. We don't know why he was betrayed and we don't know the motivations of the characters he's torturing. There's nothing cathartic or satisfying about seeing these characters brutalized and maimed because we don't even know who the fuck they are. So this is less revenge porn and more snuff/guro bullshit, which is poorly done anyways. On top of that, the MC isn't just getting revenge, he's taking edgelord glee in torturing people. He's not balancing karmic scales, he's just like an out of control child playing GTA and beating NPCs to death. And as if that weren't enough, the game logic and set up of his first run being "tutorial mode" doesn't make any fucking sense.
This series is fucking awful.

Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi, is okish until he completes his revenge against the princess then it looses steam, and the dude becomes way too dickish at points, I also forgot about it until now, so not a good sign either.

>is 100% reasonable 100% of the time and has almost no ulterior motives
But that's just the problem. If things were just a bit more ambiguous, those stories would be way more interesting. It might actually make for a good story if the bad guys were somewhat reletable or if the MCs were just assholes. Instead they tell you over and over again that the MCs were perfectly nice and well adjusted before the start of the story, that the actions of the antagonists are entirely at fault for turning them into sadistic psychos and that said antagonists are all completely irredeemable monsters without a flicker of compassion in their souls.
This is true for Nidome no Yuusha and Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi, which both start with the same completely retarded idea: The story re-starts at the beginning of the first chapter and the antagonists didn't even torment the hero yet in the new timeline. This means the bad guys have to act cartoonishly evil, so that the revengeporn feels justified to the reader.
In Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi the other member of the MCs former party are a sadistic, power obsessed princess that loves to torture him, a faggot that fucks him in the ass and a psychotic lesbian that rapes little girls to death. They keep him under control with magic drugs while physically and verbally abusing him for shits and giggles, even though he's one of the chosen heroes and the only person in the kingdoms history with healing powers strong enough to instantly re-grow limbs.
In the case of Nidome no Yuusha, the others decide to murder the MC after defeating the Demon Lords because he has become too strong. Also, isekai'd people get treated like the lowest trash in that world for some reason and him getting summond to that world apparently caused every family member, friend and any other person her cared for in the original world to die which I'm sure the antagonists will brag about at some point.
Both also love to constantly remind you how the "good" empire of light is evil and how the other perty members hated the MC all along from the second they first met him. Lastly, just to rub in how unoriginal these stories are, the MCs in both stories buy a beastgirl slave to help them in their quest for revenge, while monologuing about how evil and corrupt the kingdom is for allowing slaves "but it's ok for me, since I'm edgy and I do it for revenge". Guess where they badly copied that from?
