That's kind of the entire point of a cram school. You cram all that shit into your head before an exam and then forget all of it after as it is not important in the first place. Schools all over the world are fucking broken and need to be fixed. The first place to start is to remove all of that fluff shit that nobody understands at the ages that they are teaching it and then they never remember any of it when they're older as all they did was memorize everything for the exam and then forget it all once it was no longer needed.
No.835565

This. School went from being "a place to learn skills and create new knowledge" to being "memorize this irrelevant shit that will have no bearing on your life and stop questioning us". I associate this change with the rise of Public Education, and how it quickly turned into a government funded babysitting service.
The only things you need that are actually taught in K-12 schools are reading, writing, Algebra1-tier math, and basic science concepts. Things like getting a job, dealing with crisis situations, ethics, self defense, cooking, and doing your taxes are all ignored because you can't grade them on a scantron and call it good.

Employability is mostly down to the individual's own decisions, and "how do I get a job?" has about as many answers as there are jobs. What would you have the schools do beyond the current Careers classes?
And schools shouldn't be expected to replace parents. A large part of the things you mention come from the family. Especially "dealing with crisis situations"; I don't know how you expect that to be taught rather than developed.

Doing your taxes, ethics, and standard operating procedure for dealing with a crisis could definitely be graded on a scantron. Still, you make good points. Even college is just extended adolescence babysitting service nowadays. I'm not sure public education was ever that good in America though.

US primary and secondary education, save for a few rich private schools, is complete utter trash. No exaggeration, you can get a better education watching youtube videos.
Surprisingly the elementary school I attended in the 90s(which was blue ribbon) was actually alright. But this was probably more due to the fact that it was tiny and the teachers were your friends parents. So they had a direct stake and influence in how the education went. Getting parents directly involved usually creates better outcomes. No surprise there.

Nah, we never had a class for that. It was just mixed into our regular curriculum, like the "salary" thing being one of the assignments when we were in microsoft office class oh sorry, "computer applications" class. We did resumes as one part of technical writing class, did mock job interviews in the form of actual interviews for play positions in theater, etc. Like I said, I learned all the important job skills like resume writing from either Google-san and by finding a job when I was 16.

These threads always attract the finest of autists, and it's been a while since we had one, so I might as well entertain you with my story, while also keeping in tune with the theme of the thread. Thank fuck for the anonymous boards, so lunatics like me can be honest.
I've always been afraid that people can read thoughts. Even when I am alone, I tend to control my flow of thought, to not be incriminating to potential mind readers. At first, way back in the childhood, it was done by mentally apologizing and heavily restricting myself. The process went kinda like this: "I do not like X, X is a bitch. Oh wait, I am sorry, not a bitch, stop thinking bad thoughts". That firmly put me in that weird kid category, until I've realized that this way of thinking not only hurts me, it's also ridiculous sounding to potential mind readers, ruining the purpose of doing it.
Then I went for adding "This is just thoughts" to all thoughts I considered provocative. That helped to slow the progression of madness a bit, until something interesting happened. The little voice that checked my thoughts, managed to split off. Not as a second personality, mind you, kinda like a second flow of thought, not even that different from the first one. I found myself able to play a song in my head with one line of thought, and think with the second. Or, have two sides engage in communication, not by calling out one another directly, but by looking at the same problem from different sides. After that, I've gathered more of these "thought strands", and the current system is my main core thought being picked at by several thought processes, analyzing it, with one busy playing a song in the background. I cannot count them definitively, but I believe there being at least 3. This relates to my fear of mind reading, by reassuring me that there's just too many thoughts going on at once, creating some sort of barrier that's not as easy to pick. Not that a mind reader won't be able to read it, my thinking is just that the thought strands are so delicate, I'd definitely feel the reading attempt. I switch languages in my head all the time, too. That stops me from thinking any additional thoughts related to mindreading, and hey, being able to look at the same problem from different angles at once helps me out in everyday life, so at least there's some good that came out of it.
So, to come back to Mousou Telepathy - how would Namir react to someone like me, a person who is afraid of mind reading. Imagine someone like me, a weird kid, sitting in her class, occasionally thinking on how his mind might be read. Knowing Nascar as we do, we can reasonably assume she'd fluster or somehow give away her ability. And one fuckup is all it takes for insane people like me to start overanalyzing. I'd think about people being able to read my mind if they passed too closely to me, much less flinch in response of my thoughts, even if by coincidence. And that brings me to the main question of this post: How would one identify and defeat such a mind reader.
Step one: Confirmation
So, going by logic, if someone you suspect is a mind reader, then you can make them flinch by using your mind. We are all human, mind reader or not, and certain thoughts will provoke response, no matter what. Arachnophobia, mental threats to hurt them or their loved ones, lewd thoughts, they would eventually wear down the suspect. So, if, let's say, Naruto has arachnophobia, and by thinking about spiders crawling over her you're able to make her flinch every time, you've pretty much got a confirmed mind reader. And the best part is, if they are not, no harm done whatsoever.
Step two: Blocking.
This is what I am unsure of the most. Is it possible? Can a mindreading attempt be detected? Can it be blocked by having a very heavy stream of thoughts being about something mundane, and having actual thoughts hidden under that? It's possible, I can listen to and fully engage in a conversation, while thinking of something else in the back of my mind. Which one of those is the main one, I am unsure, but there are several flows that I can use. But for the sake of the argument, let's assume we somehow found a reliable way to block mindreading, at least partially.
No.835846
>>835845
Step 3: Confronting.
So, we've got Nintendo cornered. We know she is a mind reader, and we know she knows. We cannot read her thoughts, and she gets to choose what to say, so making her admit it would be hard. There are several ways one could do it. Thinking about something she wants, or wants to prevent, ideally making it sound just a random thought, and checking if she does it. Of course, you can't prepare this in advance, because you'd give away the intent, so the best way is just think randomly throughout the day, and afterwards, when you are away from the mind reader, analyze your thoughts and think on what she might pick up and act upon. A new coffee place. Something you've heard about someone. Any information that she will find useful. Find out whether she can relay information, too, by being a nuisance to her in remote areas, and seeing if any of her friends "randomly" show up to save her. After that, confront her, somewhere remote, and demand submission by force.
Step 4: Training.
If you can block mind reading, then you can get around blocking. If there is one telepath, chances are there are others, and you want defense. Have her train you in blocking her out. That presents a challenge, though, since you'd have no way of knowing she is telling you the truth about blocking out the mind reading. The best I've got so far, is preparing something nasty for her in advance, and thinking of that as you are trying to block. If she breaks through, then she will be able to stop the nasty thing. But that means if she doesn't, it creates a negative response to what you want her to do. You'd be essentially punishing her for doing what you want. And the nasty stuff must be really nasty, like cutting her parents car brakes or burying her cat underground, otherwise she'd just be able to endure it in favor of you feeling like you can block minds, while you can't. You can't just decide to not do the nasty thing either, because it defeats the purpose, and she'd know you wouldn't go through with it anyway, and would be free not to be honest.
So, any suggestions on how to detect, block and deal with mind readers? Any personal suggestions, in case I am not the only one who's fucked in the head like that?
