The whole point of the tournament is to see who is the strongest and who is right: The Enslave faction who ruthelssly uses their Tsukumogami until they break as if they were mere tools or the Befriend faction who treats them as companions and essentially believe in the power of friendship. The obscene stunt the old fart pulled with the "cheat" scrolls as well as Kazuya's domination transformation, even though he never intended to harm the flute girl are examples of Enslave faction's true demonstration of power, while the same goes for the Befriend faction with Ascendance.

For all I know, in the tournament the contenders are only allowed to use Tsukumogamis as weapons. How many they use or how do they use them is entirely up to them. Thus, the bad guys are technically not cheating - they're just trying to prove their point that abusing the Tsukumogami will win them more fights than being buddies with them, no matter the cost.

Also Kazuya hasn't scored yet, his celibacy is indestructible even when posessed... for now.

Finally the filler is over. Kiriha was miles better than every other character and most of the reason anyone bothers to pick up the series. Hopefully the tournament sells so badly the author goes back to monster of the week SoL. Preferably Gegege style with small Kiriha although any Kiriha is fine and MC.
