It really highlights how incredibly basic and pathetic 3D idol fans are, almost by definition if a woman becomes an idol based solely on mass popularity they've already taken at least a half dozen chinpos, and idol line-ups are practically just prostitution advertisements for big-wig mobsters (not just yakuza) half the time. It's honestly just pathetic and makes me upset that 3D idol fans are considered in the same family as anime otaku.
VA however aren't expected to remain chaste, just decent. Almost no one was (genuinely) upset that Asumi Kana got married, in fact a lot of people were happy for her and I don't think anyone was anything but hopeful when Miyu Matsuki said she wanted to get married when she got better. The biggest difference between seiyuu and idol is that the idol is presented as an entity unto themselves and not a collaborative effort between PR, Managers, and the cumulative advice on how to attract attention from the women known by the idol. Whereas a VA is known to be absolutely nothing beyond a person who contributes to the creation of a character made by designers, directors and writers, a character who is primarily born from the mangaka (assuming it's not an anime original production/character) not from the women voicing the character. Of course if it's revealed that a woman is a common whore going around banging every single guy she lays eyes on (except bassists) it's bound to affect your opinion of them regardless of what their profession is.
