10/10 is the perfect fish image. There can be none better, only equally as perfect ones.

9/10 is very good. Only details or minor things would make it perfect.

8/10 is very good, but far from perfect.

7/10 is good, but with minor issues that make me not consider it very good.

6/10 is above average. Not good, but it is clear that some effort went into making it.

5/10 is average. It's nothing spectacular but doesn't have any major issues either.

4/10 is sub-average. Not bad, but it does have some flaws.

3/10 has potential, but some flaws prevent it from being a nice fish image.

2/10 is simply bad. Major flaws in execution and idea.

1/10 is just terrible. Whoever made this needs to redo it or hang their head in shame.

0/10 not even a sakura fish.

Generally speaking I enjoy all images above or equal to 5.

Too much tail, too little head. /a/ is retarded.

Just upload your source images and let anons figure out a solution. You can use the perspective tool to change the head/tail ratio. Rotating the entire assembly by 30 or so degrees and have the upper left and bottom right fish overlap slightly in the center.

I don't have the source images. I'm just using paint.net to flip chunks of this image:

I made the inital suggestion about diagonal inversion.

Additionally, 'dramatic' is a measure of scale, not a measure of superiority. A ratio of 1:4 is equally as dramatic as a ratio of 4:1. Finally, I believe it might be a form of sacrilege to disgrace the fish's supple, likable form. However I am only a fish enthusiast and not a fish scholar such as the OP, so you may need a further opinion to confirm if such actions are sanctified.

The perspective tool allows you to simulate manipulating a 2D object in a 3D environment and projecting it back on a 2D environment. It's literally how 2D move through doors while remaining 2D. They simulate employing a third dimension, but never actually expand into 3D.

The perspective tool is blessed with the holy might of the eternal nipponese animator. Don't blaspheme against it.

For fucks sake, you had one job. The original appears to be very well edited, and the only flaw I can see is that the fish has two mouths now. It's a fantastic idea, ruined by shit image size and a white, non transparent background.

5/10. Would be 9/10 if these serious flaws were removed.

>>821789

I will rate this like it was one of my french lolis a sakura fish, because I am late today.

The idea is solid, but there is a distinct lack of characteristic white on the fish.

The fish also appears to be female, and while we do not know the true sex of the original fish, he is often portrayed as male with a large pectoral fins.

The original fish is not often seen biting other objects as well.

These differences clash with the original vision of the fish in an uncomfortable way.

No problemo, Fishanon. I may despise the fish, but I like you.

While it is certainly a nice image you got there, with a solid idea, it has two issues:

a) it's a .png with a blueboard background. You could have it be transparent to not burn out the eyes of anyone browsing late.

b) the zoom in on the fish is decreasing it's resolution. The creator of this fish could have easily used an original fish-crop with similar resolution as in >>817346. While this would have clashed with the resolution of the person holding the fish, that could be solved by tracing the original in the zoome in shots.

The imagesize is good, and the added detail on the fish its self is very nice. I rate 5/10, because the lack of anti-aliasing of the hook is ruining the rest of the image.

Is this supposed to be the absolute bare minimum of what is a fish image?

>Bizarre fish.png

The combination of an old meme, and the fish is quite nice.

The wrong perspective on the actual image displayed on the screen is rubbing me the wrong way though. 5/10, would be 6/10 with fixed perspective.

>>824431

>>824436

I could just rate them all as one image, since they are all identical except for the colours, but I especially like matousakurawearingfishhoodie10.png

The red combined with the transitionary purple leading to a turquoise is expertly executed.

matousakurawearingfishhoodie2.png on the other hand looks very strange to me. The green skin and pale pruple eyes make her look like a rotting corpse. This contrasts with the pure white of the fish.

matousakurawearingfishhoodie4.png looks interesting too. Light blue and very light red (pink) goes very well.

matousakurawearingfishhoodie3.png is my leasst favorite of them, but it's still OK. The green and orange don't fit well together, but the high contrast really does put the focus on the center of the image, letting the fish disappear in plain sight to the point where you wouldn't notice it at first unless you knew it was there.

I don't know what your intentions were with this one, but if all you wanted to was play around with colours and see their effect on an image, then you succeeded.

I rate this collection 8/10. Very nice desu.

The imag size is excellent, as is the quality. You can easily use this as a desktop background.

I enjoy how the fish is a little bit sharper than the girl holding it, making it look like the drawing was actually a photograph and the camera focused on the fish instead of on the girl in the background.

However her fingers aren't as sharp as the fish is, so that kind of ruins it.

9/10. 10/10 if the fingers were ass sharp as the fish.

I like how the colours stick out so much. The red and green in matousakuraweaingafishhoodie5.png is a very subtle contrast, and you at first don't even notice the green, because it's so dark.

The very muted red is also easy on the eyes, which I like.

matousakuraweaingafishhoodie6.png is nice as well, but the turquoise/purple don't work quite as well together. The purple is also a little too bright for my taste.

6/10

Maybe you should branch out to a different base image. There is only so much you can do with the same image, and even Warhole didn't do the same thing over and over.

Maybe try changing the base image, by making certain adjacent parts the same colour, which would remove a border.

Like painting over the eyes, or removing the mouth, or seeing how well you can do this without her hair.

>>825106

You are right, the image is full of mistakes. You fixed most of them in >>825119 though, so I will focus on the fixed version instead.

The image size is acceptable, but the cutout on the fish is abhorrent. Images like this make me wish that someone simply created a .svg of the fish's outline for everyone to use in their images.

Other than that, there is nothing exceptional or unusual about it. 3/10.

>>825202

>3D

While I dislike the presence of 3D in fish images in general I would like to point out the other stuff as well.

The place where the 3D intersects with the fish is very badly cropped, as is the hair of the 3D.The image size, while acceptable is not great either. It's also got a white background for a .png. I will give this one a pass though, since it is directly based on the absolute original image, which had a white background as well.

>>826235

I like matousakurawearingafishoodiereduxoilpaint4coloredit6.jpg the best. The distortion really does make every image very unique while they still share similar features.

matousakurawearingafishoodiecolorchange4.jpg isn't really all that impressive. Reminds me of Asuka from NGE though.

matousakurawearingafishoodiereduxoilpaint4coloredit3.jpg also doesn't look too nice. Idon't know why I dislike it in particular, so I will refrain from rating it until I have made my mind.

MatouSakura&aFish.jpg is OK. You got the girl, you got the fish, and you got some colours. I can't shake the feeling that this was maybe 5 seconds of random colours and shapes in MS paint though.

Over all, I rate this 4/10. You can do better.

Try to hide the distortion effects in the first image a little more, and figure out a proper meaning to represent in your shapes in the last image.

You could possibly databend the third one for a better result (unless that is what you did).

>>827314

The first image is lacking a fish. I can not rate it because it is not a fish image.

I will however share my thoughts on it.

It is very nice. It has a large resolution and features a shy 2D girl, which is always a plus. It's shapes and colouring are simple, almost all boarders are crisp and sharp. Most colours that touch in one spot are contrasting nicely.

Yet you can clearly see that she is blushing. There is a slight red tone to her cheeks and very faint red lines as well. Her eyes too feature a smooth transition from light brown to dark brown, but this one is a little harsher and a lot easier to notice.

I wonder why the artist chose to draw her hands the way he did though. It's the only part that appears to be the work of an amateur.

The white background it's too nice, but wasn't too hard to remove either

>Chewing fish.gif

The most obvious criticism I have is the jarring difference between the resolution of the fish and the girl. It would have been easy to blur the fish a little to match the girl's resolution more closely.

Other than that the animation appears to be acceptable at first glance.

On another look you notice some problems with the fish's anatomy though.

His skull should have been visible at that point already, since she apparently stripped his spine clean of flesh up close to the eyes.

She also appears to have ingested some of the fish's bones, which is unsafe.

7/10.

Most of the contents of this fish are also very nice.

Fromt the edits to the actual fish itself (recoloring, the mustache, the slight bend of the mouth into a frown, just as the eyebrows, the beard and the horns all look very well done), to the background (proper perspective, play of light and shadow in the smoke, the way the lava bends into fire on the rocks), even the text (the J looks like a hook, which can be seen as a reference to the fish bait meme).

The only problem is the size actual image size, but it's not a big one.

This fish image has very similar problems as >>827314 Chewing_fish.gif. The fish's anatomy isn't properly modeled on a koi fish, especially the way the fish bone goes a little too far forward.

I also doubt that a Professor could eat that much raw fish. She ate more than double her entire body volume of mostly flesh and some organs (likely including much of the gills, the heart and the stomach).

Other than that I have enjoyed this image. It's art is simple, yet effective, and the characters are both recognizable and keep true to the style of the original.

I rate 9/10. Could be larger, and have a transparent background as a .png.

I would use this as a desktop background if it had the right resolution.

I dislike all rotationfish, but this one is a little different.

First of all, it's a nice base picture. Very fitting symmetric assembly with red and black in the foreground and bottom half, while white and blue dominate the top half of the image.

The heads of the students create a boundary between the blue background and the red black of their uniforms.

The way the crowd has formed and the fish are positoned clearly direct the viewers eye towardss the center of attention: the loli holding the two fish.

I rate it 2/10. A very nice base image, completely ruined by the unnecessary rotation, which adds nothing, and only forces shitty .gif compression, colour limits and filesize on it.

I would rate it a very solid 10/10 if the image came in the same (or larger) size, but as an uncompressed .jpg or .png

I have already made a post on smuglo.li about it, but I hope this

>>832146

The blue tones to this image give is a cooling aura, which is just right on hot summer/spring days like this.

The animation speed is a little too high for my taste, but there is nothing the creator could have done about it, since the original animation probably had a limited frame rate to begin with.

Other than that I can not find any flaw this with this animation. It's entertaining.

Fish don't have a penis though, so I can only rate 3/10.

>>832492

This one is a little more tricky to rate, mainly because of two things:

a) the fih is actually animated. He moves back and you can see the impact marks actually overlap his censored area a little, making it look like he was part of the original image.

But then there is the fact that his resolution is bad. It's not terrible, but it's not acceptable either.

Again: koi fish don't have a penis.

3/10 again. A lot more effort went into this than the creator would probably be willing to admit.

There are only two problems with this image

1) the monocle wouldn't hold on the fish's eye. A monocle is clamped into the eye's orbit. A koy fish's eyes protrude from the skull, meaning that any monocle would squeeze the eyeball and blur the vision, besides being very painful.

2) Image size. Why are most of these so small?

The rating committee has had difficulties coming together for a meeting lately. Some future events appear to be casting long and unpleasant shadows. It was decided and is hereby announced, that the fish rating committee will hence forth attempt to assemble at least every second day, until all proper precautions have been taken to deal with the issues that lay ahead.

The rating committee would like to apologize to anyone affected by this development, and offers compensation in form of this OC fish.

It's interesting how the artist managed too do the text field just fine without any sort of aliasing around he edges, but completely failed to achieve the same on the fish.

This reminds me of the "Join me" devil fish (which was rated 9/10. The rating committee is pleased with the functionality of the archive up until this point.)

Now that I look at it again, the devil fish image appears to have the same issue, and may even be using the same template.

But the addition of the background to the devil fish image made it far less noticeable to the point where you actively have to look for it in order to even see it. Even afterwards you can't notice it.

I like the message of this fish, mainly because of it's open, friendly and inviting nature. I fear it may be abused by those who do harm to others though. Does thee fish condone the killing of innocents, or is the fish's love not exclusive?

These are important moral questions.

4/10. Neat image, but the bad fish crop, which isn't as hidden as with the devil fish, really does ruin it.

>>833541

This fish in interesting in two aspects. Not only does it depict a fish eating a burger of fish, but it also is a reference to one of the earliest episodes of a western animated TV series. The image would be good to average if it didn't have two major issues:

a) Image resolution. It appears the image was at first a very low resolution JPG or GIF, cropped and then upscaled, which kept all of the JPG artifacts and colour issues. This deteriorates the image's quality greatly.

b)The way the fish burger was edited is sloppy. While proper perspective was used to make the fish fit between the buns, the cutoff between fish and bun is far too sharp to appear as if it was a natural aspect of the image. The artist should have used a transition zone between fish and bun, where the fish's opacity decreases and reveals the burger behind. Alternatively the artist could have drawn a black line between the fish and the bun, recreating the cartoons original art style.

2/10.

This is not only a very high quality edit of the fish in a technical way, but also in an artistic way.

First off: the perspective on the halo is perfect. Seconly the way the wings blend into the back of the fish is flawless, thirdly the shading on the wings is flawless and on top of it all the image size is acceptable.

The only three problems I seee are:

1) The wings of flying fish developed from the pectoral fins. I understand angles have wings on their backs and not wings for arms, and since this fish is meant to look angelic in form this "flaw" is more of a personal gripe on my end. It won't affect the rating.

2) There appears to be no second wing on the otheer side.

3)The second ray of light coming from the sky bursts from a completely clear area. There is no reason (other than divine intervention) for there to be such a sharp beginning to it. It also appears to be shining in front of the fish. The same is true for the larger ray of light.

I rate 9/10. Very nice desu.

Would the fish survive the vacuum of space? There may be blood pumping through his veins, but if he doesn't even have gills then he doesn't need to breathe either, right?

If that isn't a sign, then I don't know what is.

While the committee can enjoy the humor present in this fish image, the coloration is off around the fins of the fish. The creator really did try their best to hide it, but it's still very obvious.

5/10, 6 if the fins were fixed.

>>836698

The committee believes to have rated this fish already, however it is not part of the archive. The committee has had a look in the board archives and indeed this fish was already rated.

It will be transfered into the appropriate category and is hereby officially part of the archive. 10/10.

This image was one of the earliest creations of the committee. Rating it directly would not only superfluous, but also vanity.

This fish image references a historic event of such magnitude, that it has changed the entirety of human history.

The execution is also great. I can not find a flaw, besides maybe overdoing it with the Luther stickers on her clothing, but even then it could be understood as a reference to Lutheran Christians in 2018.

10/10.

The total number of fishes in the 9 and 10 buckets is 15.

This image starts out very good. It features well drawn characters and manages to convey emotions just right. The way thee sakurafish is edited into the third frame doesn't look aestetically pleasing, but I can't come up with a way to improve it in any way. I guess it's all right.

7/10 A good cut above average.

>>837691

I wonder if tis image is an edit or not. It seems unlikely that any show would feature a girl actually eating a fish that way, especially a koi fish. The thick outlines around the fish make it fit right into the image, and it doesn't look like any other fishimage I have seen before. It must have been purposefully created for thise scene.

However: while the image is almost perfect from an artistic point of view, it lacks any message. All it shows is a girl biting off the head of a fish.

8/10. Not just a cut above average.

There was no fish posted on Friday the 29th of June.

I am highly disappointed, fishanon.

This image features both a girl and the fish getting bitten by said girl, but there is nothing special about it.

It's also rather small in size.

Her hands appear to be a direct copy and paste from the original fish image. While it works for her left hand, it looks like her right hand is too large. Her elbow also looks more like it was bent into shape rather than having a proper joint.

2/10. It's a fish image-

That's a big fish. Looks like a whale shark to me.

The image could be seen as a 3D joke about fish images, though I doubt the person taking it had that in mind.

My only criticisms are that it's

a) 3DPD

b) a very small image with horrible compression

I would rate this a 5/10 if the image quality was better, but the way it is I can only give it a 3/10.

After doing a reverse google image search to find a higher quality picture it turns out that this is a photoshop of another image, where the female swims along the top side of the whale shark. Sadly no higher resolution picture is available.

I try my hardest to justify the ratings I give. If you have any criticisms, please feel free to let me know so I may improve.

The fish appeared in my dreams again, it was floating in it's signature pose with that expression of calm like. It extended a fin, I lightly held it and for a while felt inner peace. The fish then floated to above my head and rested there. I felt safe with it there, watching over me and looking for things to like as well as things to like it. It wasn't slimy or scaly but smooth to the touch as if it had skin of an angel. Today's image is for more comedic effect, even the darkest of individuals liked it at one point or another.

 No.839111

It has become part of my life. I don't particularly enjoy it though. It's more of a necessity.

I do enjoy that fish picture though. Not only does it feature the original fish image (and someone knew how to use the perspective tool to the full extend of it's capabilities), but it is a persiflage of an important event too.

I rate 7/10. 8/10 if the cropping on the helmets were slightly improved, and 9-10/10 if someone were to redraw the whole thing as 2D only.

>>838998

This fish image is strange. The hands are tiny and look like they were drawn by a beginner. They lack plasticity and clash with the 3D person they are supposed to be attached to.

It would only make sense if some 2D girl was holding the fish up to Adolf-senpai, which could have easily been edited into another image of him approaching some girl in the streets or whatever.

The image also appears to be slightly pixelated, which may be due to upscaling.

3/10. Wasted potential.

My inner strelok likes this image very much, but I have to ignore those feelings for now. There is rating to be done.

While the base image is nothing spectacular the edit has some major flaws. The resolution of the rifles doesn't match the resolution of the background, and their outlines are not as well pronounced as they should. This causes a lack of contrast with the white background.

The girl's right hand is also not properly holding the rifles, while her left is impaled on the grip of the foremost rifle.

Overall a 4/10. Very nice idea that would have easily been a 6-7/10, but ruined to by not putting in as much effort as the idea requires.

Not only is this image rather small, but editing the way the fish is edited onto the faces of the 3D women doesn't look like it was well done.

It has all the components of a fish image though, a female and a fish, so I have to rate it.

1/10. At least it's a fish image.

>>839799

How interesting, this seems like it uses part of the .gif I rated on the second of June 2018 (archive image attached).

I like the new version of the fish. The background seems very detailed, althought I am not sure what it is meant to represent. Is she standing on a ceiling light?

The way her hair casts a shadow on the fish's skin shows a great attention to detail, but I fear that the way the background it lit conflicts with the it. The light appears to be coming from the right side in the background, but her hair casts a shadow on the right of her head.

It's also odd how the fish's dorsal fin has some kind of kink in it.

These issues are all minor and you won't notice them unless you look at the image for a long time. The fact that you can look at it for a long time and only see these tiny flaws shows how well done it is.

I rate 9/10. Where is the background from?
