Personally, I lost interest around the time of the monster girl convention. The monster girl police squad had already strained credibility, and the addition of a new girl every chapter was a bit much, but the characters were interesting enough that I was willing to overlook its problems. When the author looked straight at the audience to give a nod and a wink with the "Soundproof Compatability Testing" booths, I dropped it because it flew in the face of the premise and the MC's situation no longer had any internal logic behind it. If the government is going to sponsor massive public events where humans and nonhuman get to fuck each other and go home together, why is MC under so much pressure to take on so many girls? Why is he federally mandated to have no sexual encounters with them? Why is it that he needs an agent handler? It blew out an already waning suspension of disbelief, and I lost interest.

He isn't anymore. He was instructed to pick one as a wife, well before the convention took place. The government is encouraging it for him just as they are generally, though they inexplicably tell him to get married while encouraging everyone else to just have casual sex.

The problem with the convention was that the manga tried to do two things at once. On one hand all the main girls are virgins and MC is supposed to pick one to be his wife. On the other hand the fuckbooths at the convention mark the manga finally giving up on pretending MGs aren't just sluts, where a guy places an order for his favourite flavour of girl, they fuck within minutes of meeting each other, and the "compatibility" of the relationship is purely a function of how good they are in the sack.

12 Beast is mildly interesting though, right? Granted, it's more of a bog standard Isekai Power Fantasy than it is generic Harem fantasy, but it's at least more interesting than his other settings. The Human invasion aspect is neat, and could have some interesting connotations if the author did something with it.

Actually, I'm pretty sure in the one shots it was explained that each protagonist was a brother/octuplet in a family, each with their own girlfriend. Two of them meet in one of the mermaid one-offs.
