Many things:

1. I hope it's not CG, but it's not looking bad in this PV.

2. The "atmosphere" the manga conveyed to me was much more of "Vietnam war+90s arcades+Cold war", much like Metal Slug, but much more Asiatic and with some 80s movies vibes as well, like Karate Kid, Back to the Future and Apocalypse Now. Music related is how I imagine it's ambience tension, not that crap electro-techno-metal they put in the PV.

3. It's that glorious Kaiji narrator in the PV. Nice.

4. If it's indeed CG, I think it will only be used in the fights, as the manga relies much on hyperbolic facial expressions to convey comedy, and this is hard/shitty on CG.

5. I hope they also bring the light gothic art style to the anime.

We probably aren't getting that fight. The PV shows an Ouma vs Wakatsuki fight, so after the first 3 Ouma matches we will get an anime original plot instead of the tournament.

Okay, rewatched it, in the "knee to the face" scene I though Rihito was Wakatsuki. I still think they will avoid the tournament, it's too long.

I'm still in round 1, but isn't there a ton of non-tournament stuff going on in the background? Or has all the corporate backstabbing and island invaders stuff already been resolved at that point?
