I've been meaning to put my images in Hydrus for a couple years now. My porn is in an even worse state. At least with screenshots, anime reaction images, and so on I've got them half-sorted by show and a few general folders like "yuri". My porn is just dropped in two massive folders, one for doujins and one for individual images.

Even just changing the mpv config file to a more reasonable naming scheme should help though. I personally use screenshot-template="%F_%P"

That's easier said than done. I'm currently wrangling with mpvshot's config file, but its capabilities are limited.

Basically I want to be able to set the screenshot path to be a non-trivial function of the path of the file it's playing. For instance if it's playing "/mnt/store/anime/slow_start/Slow Start 08.mkv", I want screenshots to be saved to "/mnt/store/mpvshot/slow_start/Slow Start 08_####.png".

If I want to do that I think I'll have to learn how to write custom scripts for mpv though. There's an example of this sort of thing in here: https://github.com/jonniek/mpv-scripts

Even if you ignore that his "theory" is about 3DPD woman, there are multiple statements in his theory that are unproven and go contrary to current scientific findings.
